Discussion: Gorsuch's Civics Speech At Trump Hotel Sharply Criticized By Liberal Groups

Given how he got there his very presence on the court negates its legitimacy as an entity above partisan politics.

The hotel itself, just down the street from the White House, is also cited in several lawsuits arguing that Trump is violating the Constitution’s “emoluments” clause, a ban on foreign gifts and payments.

So Gorsuch will have to recuse himself when these cases hit the Supreme Court, right?

Right.

the Trump hotel was chosen for its “location, size, availability and amenities.”

It would be impossible to find another venue in DC due to its lack of hotels, auditoriums, etc.

Yeah, it would be like my gerrymandered-in-half precinct a while back, when we had no schools, churches, libraries, or actually any public building to vote in. One small election crammed into an elevator lobby owned by Texas MHMR and next we doubled up with a neighboring precinct at their polling station.

It would have been fun to vote in the local S&M store though. I think an opportunity was missed.

All these “conservatives” with their righteous moral compasses need to check those compasses to see if they been demagnetized.
