Ernst Röhm : “Says who?”

White House aide Sebastian Gorka said Thursday that President Donald Trump had announced his intention to ban all transgender individuals from the U.S. military because the military is “not there to reflect America” or “be socially engineered.”

He left out Truman.

So a Nazi doesn’t think the military should be representative of its populace? At least he doesn’t want to put them in special camps…yet.

I love the feeling of relief when I finally realize what the other thing is that one thing reminds me of:

At least Gorka makes it easy to know where he’s coming from.

This is the same argument heard over and over against the integration of African-Americans, Hispanics, undocumented immigrants, gay men, lesbian women, women on Navy ships, women in combat, and now transgender individuals. Every time people like Gorka bring up this canard, and every time our military men and women, with their historic “can do” attitude have made these transitions work, as have the armed forces of many other nations around the world. Do you really believe that American Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airman, and Coast Guard are not up to these challenges. Funny, because they have already proved that they are.

Thousands of transgender men and women are serving and/or have served in
our military with distinction, many before the policy change allowing
them to serve openly. Trump’s tweet to reverse this policy was not, as
he claims based upon, “. . .consultation with my Generals” and not based
upon a concern about the “. . .tremendous medical costs [which are
minuscule] and disruption that transgender in the military would
entail.” All of these notions have been roundly debunked by the Joint
Chiefs, numerous commanders in the field, and by sound research, notably
by the Rand Corporation’s analysis of the Defense Department’s budget
and expenditures.

Trump’s tweet was driven solely by bigotry and politics and as such it should be profoundly rebuked.

Seconded

Perhaps. But then he fails to tell us why the military needs $84M of Viagra per year and $Trillion planes that refuse to fly.

There’s always the exception that proves the rule.

“The military is not a microcosm of civilian society,” Gorka responded. “They are not there to reflect America. They are there to kill people and blow stuff up, they are not there to be social engineered.”

Thank you for the fascist perspective on this. It is always good to know what those who would harm America are thinking.

People need to know Dr. G as he like to be called is an actual Nazi, and from what I can tell he got his PhD as a prize in a box of cracker Jacks.

Not to mention the Rand report which debunks each and every one of those “talking points”…

We had to endure this same crap during the repeal of DADT… now I wonder if Gorka & company are wanting to start unwinding that civil rights advance.

It would be nice if someone in the GOP just slipped a paragraph in the defense authorization mandating equal treatment for trans military personnel & potential recruits…

Actually quite a few, I’m afraid

Another less known, Danish person

His system of exercise became highly popular in Germany, and in 1933 Bukh publicly expressed his allegiance to the National Socialist cause and its aim of improving the health of the Aryan race through gymnastics. This made Bukh unpopular in Denmark, especially after the German occupation of Denmark in 1940. Bukh support for Nazism caused a backlash in the form of a previous lover publicly revealing Bukh’s homosexuality. Bukh had lived together with a male partner for several years, and his sexuality was well known in his family and among his friends and students. Biographers speculate that Bukh never became aware of the Nazi stance against homosexuality, even in spite of his frequent visits to Germany during the 1930s and -40s. In 1944 he bought the manor Løgismose, which he sold again in 1947.

Sebastian Gorka is against equal treatment for LGBT people? I did Nazi that coming…

Also,

“The military is not a microcosm of civilian society,” Gorka responded. “They are not there to reflect America.

“Well, we’re not here to represent one part of America,” Gorka said. “We are here to represent all of America

I honestly do not understand how these people’s brains work. They repeatedly contradict themselves within minutes. THE BEST PEOPLE! WELL-OILED MACHINE!

"Gorka elaborated on Twitter, calling the acknowledgement of transgender servicemembers “Obama-era social engineering.”

Yeah, what we really need is Ferdinand II era social engineering!!! Nobody expects it!!!

“There are leading studies from the medical establishment, for example, that state that the transgender community has a 40 percent suicide attempt rate.”

…he said to justify this latest contribution to the society-wide shaming and dehumanization of transgendered people that causes such a tragic suicide rate…

Gorka Touts Transgender Soldier Ban, Slams ‘Obama-Era Social Engineering’

As opposed to the FDR-Era social engineering favored by Gorka’s Nazi brethren?

He sounds like every other knownothing internet forum warrior out there. Just trying to drum up another round of petty meanness disguised as masculinity for the base.

When did this hungarian neo-Nazi ever serve in the United States Military?

BTW, both the UK and Israeli military have serving trans people.
