Discussion: GOP's Halbig Tantrum Is A Punitive Attack Out Of Soviet Communism

Great writing. Put Mr. Michaels on the payroll Josh.

Revolution, please.

No chance that the SC will take this up before the November elections, so there’s no holding Pukes accountable for their undermining of a plan that has palpable benefits and approval. Two years from now, only the already informed will remember, and people who had and lost insurance once again won’t be motivated to go to the polls.

Not a bug, a feature!

The subsidies are paid for by a small tax on the incomes of individuals making more than $250,000 and couples making more than $500,000. I think that is why there is so much opposition stirred up and paid for by the wealthy. The old ā€œredistributionā€ whine.

With all due respect, can you please give solid examples of extreme leftists who have the microphones and attention that the extreme right regularly enjoy?

Are there anybody remaining of the radical left? If so, none have been elected for a long, long time. If ever.

As usual, you’re spot on.

The similarities are unsettling—demonizing specific groups as lesser people, appealing to baser emotions, working to subvert democratic government, chronic lying, perpetual propagandizing, reliance on militaristic tropes, fomenting violent behavior from followers, trashing the judicial system, false patriotic fervor . . . . . and on and on.

And both are far-right radical political movements, dedicated to a mystical past that never really existed.

This madness has to end. Republicans need to get over that there is an AA in the WH. There is a reason for minorities to believe that the GOP is the party of white rich man with judges like these. There is one man on the SCOTUS who is always on the republican side who sometimes appears and does things that are reasonable. Surely Justice Kennedy does not want to take healthcare from millions of poor people. But I could be wrong.

So the Federalists are in league with Lenin and Marx? Shocking, Fred C. Koch must be spinning in his Scrooge Mc Duck stenciled coffin.

Stalinism suits Conservatives. How long will it be before they’re committing their political enemies to ā€œmental hospitals?ā€

I have always thought about a tiered approach to young people, minorites and single women being induced to vote (which would have long ago put people like Ted Cruz on the unemployment line).

My daughter (who is 36) is old enough and mature enough to pay attention to someone slightly older. And she is young enough to reach those younger than she is.

Similarly, minorities abound who are fully cognizant of the stakes in our political battle to save this nation’s soul. They are often in a very good position to minister to their brethren who, for whatever reason, are not tuned in politically.

Same thing goes for single women.

We are now in a state where Are Related Behavior (Older, Reactionary people outvoting younger ones, which is a natural thing, SEE DATA BELOW) will join the third resurgence of the Confederacy (the first being pre-Civil War, the second being Jim Crow 1877-1965) in literally bringing down the United States of America.

All while those who could stop them at the polls choose not to vote.

MIDTERM ELECTION YEARS

(first column age 18-24, second column 30 and older)

1974 42.8% 72.6%
1978 42.1% 74.6%
1982 45.2% 76.6%
1986 35.8% 72.6%
1990 36.3% 72.5%
1994 41.5% 71.8%
1998 28.5% 65.6%
2002 35.1% 67.1%
2006 35.5% 67.9%
2010 33.4% 65.1%

That’s what I was thinking yesterday. SCOTUS has a way to cover their ass and cover it with freshly washed hands of this matter. I hope it goes that way.

We’ve arrived at the point where we must decide what to do about the tangible evil that seeks to destroy us.

A Social Worker friend of mine and I had a talk a couple of days ago. He has an MSW, which for many years was a de-facto ā€œterminal degreeā€ in Social Work.

He indicated to me that the Republicans, along with FOX and the RNM (Republican Noise Machine) have now crossed the line into psychopathology. He also made a case for the similarity between Goebbels and FOX. The lies, the blatant lies, the doubling-down, the repitition. I would go further and posit that FOX is more effective. FOX has the weather, on local channels. FOX has the NFL. FOX has TV primetime shows. FOX has pretty girls. Goebbels may have had some of these, but not to the degree of FOX.

FOX also has the racist, Confederate streak in the U.S., which has never gone away. On the other hand, the Jews that Goebbels was able to successfully vilify, were long reputed to have been the best-treated Jews in Europe (which undoubtedly took too many, tragically, by surprise).

And that ā€œsurpriseā€ is still etched on the distracted faces of Millennials, single women and the young, most of whom still are unaware of what FOX and the Republican Noise Machine (and their alllies in the MSM) are doing to further the Koch/A.L.E.C. agenda

Cheering for bad outcomes that you helped create is a pretty lousy way to behave in a democracy.

Amen to that.
