Discussion: GOPer Unsure On Specifics But Sees Obama Impeachment Over Executive Action

Discussion for article #230403

Funny guy. I always liked Mel Brooks.

And did Slate bother to ask him if he felt that Shrub and Reagan should have served time for their executive actions re: immigration? No, of course not. “Articles are for the GOP to spew hate and attack the president, not to show the blatant hypocrisy and racism of GOPers like Brooks.”

And he also sees a man who lives up in the sky someplace. And a demon with horns that lives under the ground.

Please…let’s waste billions of dollars impeaching another President…never mind the law…never mind the fact that it’s a fool’s errand…never mind the fact that it’s a stupid idea…impeach the President!

I’m sure Mr. Brooks’ fund-raising letter will be in the mail before the weekend.

I see institutionalization in the future of this idiot. Clearly he’s a moron.

Well in today’s GOP being a moron is grounds for rising up in the ranks.

Question: Can the President pardon himself?

President Biden can.

There IS a statute on being “uppity”, isn’t there?

It’s now become a game of one up manship wherein they try to see who can say the most outrageous thing about Pres. Obama. I’m just waiting for one of these cracker-ass bastards to say that they are going to haul the Pres. away in chains and force him to perform hard labor.

I went to the Slate site and read the piece. This is clearly not an interview, but an amalgam of quotes. There is no indication as to where the quotes came from, but the one below makes it seem as though it was a verbal exchange of some sort:

Brooks said there is a federal statute (“I don’t have the citation for it at the tip of my tongue”) making it a felony to aid, abet, or entice a foreigner to illegally enter the U.S.
“At some point, you have to evaluate whether the president’s conduct aids or abets, encourages, or entices foreigners to unlawfully cross into the United States of America,” he continued. “That has a five-year in-jail penalty associated with it.”

Also, at the very end there are quotes from Bachman and others. Not one mention of how these quotes were gathered, and not one sentence objectively looking at these outrageous statements. This is journalism? I am disgusted, yet again.

“If the president is simply not obeying a statute that is noncriminal in nature, that does not necessarily rise to a high crime or a misdemeanor…”

“…but by God, we’ll come up with something. He just needs impeachin’.”

That’s the scheme, of course…to put out a letter to “the base” asking for more donations. Reps and Sens now devote 8 hours of every day (including non-working days) pan-handling from “the base.” And when they lose, no law prevents them from putting that money into their own bank accounts. If they continue to win positions of government “service” they must use the funds for campaign expenses.
