As a youngish gay guy, shit like this makes my blood boil. I’ve had a low-level urge to vomit for the last two days, and this shit just makes it worse.
It wasn’t enough to try to instantly convert this into a generic terrorist attack in order to prop up the clash-of-civilizations fantasy.
It wasn’t enough to casually elide the fact that it was a gay club (and on that night dominated by queer people of color) because acknowledging their identity highlights the uncomfortable ideological congruency between social conservatives and Isis re gay people.
But to argue in the face of all reality that this wasn’t even an attack that predominantly took the lives of queer people? To essentially tell the community “excuse me, this was an attack on all of us”?
I’m this close to buying plane tickets and voting on an absentee ballot. I just can’t with these monsters anymore.
