Discussion: GOPer Says ‘Goebbels Would Be Proud Of’ Media Portrayal Of Big Labor

Discussion for article #237417

No they wouldn’t. Goebbels would have been incredibly proud of the double-speak and double-think that the GOP rely upon to get their horrible agenda passed, but he would have rather died than do anything with regards to Labor.

Republicans always seem to know exactly how the Nazis would feel about something. Anyone want to venture a guess as to why?

I personally know of no Democrats who would poison his six children because life in the bunker was under siege by the Russians and the end of the Nazi’s grip on Germany was at hand and then commit suicide with his wife. I’ll also go out on a limb and say that this asshat doesn’t know Goebbels’ first name or that of his wife and couldn’t identify him in a lineup. But say GOEBBELS loud enough and the nuts tremble.

As a Nazi, I’m not sure how happy I’d be to have my family fall into the hands of the Russians at the end of WWII.

Pretty much. These guys either don’t know their history or are counting on everyone else not to know their history.

And Fox News. Don’t forget Fox News. As a rule, I try to avoid comparing anything to the Nazis, if it can be helped, but if the cable news model existed in the 1930’s and 40’s, Goebbels would have certainly used it like Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes are presently doing.

The only time I compare anyone to Nazis is when it’s an accurate comparison.

For instance, I got in trouble for comparing President G.W. Bush to Hitler.

The two had very similar management stiles and when they went hands on with anything, they both were disasters.

I think this happens because I see the world a bit weirdly.

Yes, because as we all know, Nazis were Big Labor supporters.

It put the lie to the image of Nazis as fearless since the leadership did themselves in before the Russians rolled in. Those who survived probably wished they hadn’t.

Sigh.

He was not upset by “made-up stories and facts he was hearing about big labor.” He was upset by what he deemed stories and facts he contends were made up by big labor. You’ve made it sound like he was rushing to labor’s defense.

Can we not even accurately report how Godwin ended the debate?

Because you know who else couldn’t accurately report how Godwin’s law ended debates? Yeah, that’s right. HITLER!

Imagine a country where conservatism, xtianism and republicanism was a quickly fatal disease, or only covered by the republican, “if you get sick, die quickly” health plan. Why are the southern states so afraid to actually try to leave the union?

If they left the union the US government wouldn’t give them free handouts anymore?

How does that rule go: First one who invokes “Nazis” or “Hitler” in a debate loses unless the subject is WWII or comparative politics?

The first one to invoke the Nazis LOSES!

Goebbels would of been very proud of what Fox has managed to do.Both push the propaganda.Goebbels got millions of Germans to suck on his kool aid…Fox gets millions of Cons to suck on its kool aid.
Both swing lies and propaganda.

Ooohhh-nice point!

Exactly, that was the reason for the ‘dumbing down of America’. Cut education first and the rest will follow.
