Discussion for article #223484
Whatever happens in 2014, 2016 will be the read disaster for Republicans. 23 Rethug seats up for re-election is 2016 compared to just 10 Dem seats.
The SD race is probably favoring Rounds, who is not a lunatic by GOP standards. He’s a SOB and liar, but not insane. There are 2 announced wild cards non-party candidates. One is Larry Pressler, who held the seat until Tim Johnson beat him 12 years ago, who is running as a non-partisan conservative. Another is Gordon Howie, running as the non-Repuke very very conservative. Howie may make the race interesting. He may syphon off very conservative voters, enough to make it interesting.
He is going to have to siphon off quite a lot of votes then. Weiland has no chance from any polling I have seen. Rounds has a cake walk into the Senate.
And keep in mind that teabagger brought in the 2010 Klass of Krazee Klowns. We ought to be able to exterminate some of those rodents, like my very own Ron Johnson.
