What the hell is wrong with Louisiana? They’ve got great people, full of heart and soul but why can’t they find any politicians that aren’t crazy, on the take, or both?

The “power of incumbency.”
Incumbency gives career politicians too much power, according to Republican conservatives and to Donald Trump. The system is not for corrupt bureaucrats to “hold seats” until they decide to give it up.
That’s a weak implementation of democracy.

Go look at the DSCC web page - could these people get any worse? I used to contribute monthly to the DSCC and the DNC - I seriously doubt they will ever get another dime of my money.
Does anyone remember just over a month ago when the democrats were trying hard not to seem too exuberant over taking the senate back and actually talking about the possibility of something in the house - remember? It is now 52-48 in the senate. And of course, if it was a tie, Tim Kaine would have the deciding vote.
At this point, democratic leadership is laughable.
I guarantee the vast majority of people who voted in that election could not name 2 people Trump has nominated for any position. This is tribal stuff - they voted for the R. If we wait for the electorate to wise up and see what is so obvious to us, we will die waiting.
The democrats gave this seat to Republicans - they are getting quite good at that. The DSCC and DNC are in disarray and have no coherent plan for anything at the moment except more of the same and give me your money.
