Discussion: GOPer Faces Frustrated Crowd At Town Hall: 'Lots Of Things To Be Upset About'

With regards to his cabinet confirmation votes, he and all the GOP senators knew precisely what they were doing. There are no viable excuses.

Yeah, people should be frustrated.

ā€œAmericans should be upset,ā€ he said. ā€œLots of things to be upset about.ā€

Hey Esme - Think youā€™ve got a mistake. Whoā€™s ā€œKingā€ in the second paragraph?

Blah blah blah. What counts is when it is time for Moran to vote in the Senate. I predict heā€™ll follow the party line and will be pleasantly surprised if he doesnā€™t.

ā€œWhy isnā€™t there a woman on the committee to draft AHCA?ā€ Well, I dunno, because your party chose not to put one on there? How can Republican Senators get applause with do-nothing statements like this one? Iā€™m sick of GOP scoundrels getting credit for playing reasonable in public, and then acquiescing to cynical power plays when the time comes. No applause for hypocrisy, please.

" Said he was just saying that Sessions is entitled to a full airing of the facts. "

If he wants a ful airing of the facts, then perhaps he shouldnā€™t commit perjury by hiding them.

I just donā€™t understand why gop voters are mad, the GOP is doing what they said they were going to do when they were voted in.

"Someone asks Moran if heā€™ll buck his party. He says if he reaches
conclusion thatā€™s in the best interest of Americans and Kansans " Which will happen precisely never, because he lets Mitch McConnell decide whatā€™s in the interest of Kansans. If and when Trump gets caught carrying a satchel of opioids through customs, and thereā€™s no way to hide the incontrovertible evidence, that is when GOP Senators will suddenly find their courage, and be first in line to get credit for their bravery in defense of the Republic and its laws and norms. I am sure then, when the GOP as a whole ā€˜bucksā€™ its current line, weā€™ll have a lot of independent, principled leaders, as the lot of them stampede. If we donā€™t have a dictatorship or all die from poor government first.

Worth re-reading Tierney Sneedā€™s Do Republicans Remember When They Promised Theyā€™d Be A Check On Trump?

House Speaker Paul Ryan: Iā€™d ā€˜Sueā€™ A President Who Exceeded His Constitutional Powers

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell: ā€˜There Will Be Constraintsā€™ On Trump

Sen. Marco Rubio: I Will Be ā€˜A Check And Balance On Whoever The President Is

Sen. Orrin Hatch: Iā€™ll ā€˜Ensure A President Trump Toes The Lineā€™

Sen. Rob Portman: ā€˜I Will Stand Upā€™ When I Disagree With Trump

Sen. Pat Toomey: Iā€™ll ā€˜Stand Up To Any Presidentā€™s Bad Ideasā€™

Sen. John McCain: We Have Congress To ā€˜Restrain Someoneā€™ Who Exceeds Constitution

Rep. Mike Coffman: ā€˜Iā€™ll stand up to him. Plain and simple.ā€™

Where are they now?

Allegedly this guy was identified and interviewed at a Cardinals game, but he sounds so predictably moranic that Iā€™m not convinced this isnā€™t just snark. FWIW:

These GOPers keep talking out of both sides of their mouths thinking this will all blow over. They will start to panic when they see the damage supporting trump and his draconian policies will bring to them. Throwing the GOP out starts in GA 6th this month.

ā€¦after there is enough to take down his VP too. SOTH is so overrated.

Too bad McConnell was talking about Trumpā€™s promised infrastructure investmentā€¦

"ā€¦ I mean Iā€™ll Check my PACā€™s account Balance after meeting with tbethe president.

The Republican lineā€¦ so do nothing.

And leave the room so I can pretend Iā€™m ā€œCentristā€

As a Republican, ā€œBadā€ means something entirely different than most expect

By restrain I mean makes comments on MTPā€¦

ā€¦and shake his hand.

In Congress raiding what they can before the public kicks them out again.

ā€œFrustrated constituents at a town hall Monday morning pressed Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) to defend his stance on the Republican bill to repeal and replace Obamacare and his vote for Betsy DeVos as secretary of education.ā€

Jerry is finding it difficult to defend the indefensible.
