Discussion for article #228181
Bloomberg has already said that Braley failed to damage Ernst in the debate. Comments on other sites (like The Hill) have been overrun by trolls. Usually, I take that as a sign that the wingnuts are worried and trying to give the appearance of overwhelming support for Ernst.
Anyone see this or hear of it? Can’t we put this Palinista away, or is Braley just a male Martha Coakley?
“Dem”? Really? You don’t want people to know his name, but you want to be sure they know Ernst’s? That’s odd. Aren’t you part of the “liberal” media
Does Ernst have a Swiffer on her head??
Well, this piece was pretty much copied and pasted from the Ernst spin doctors. So we are being trolled by the stenographer posing as a journalist here.
But from what I have gathered this morning, the consensus seems to be with Bloomberg. He wasn’t unable to get anything to stick, and she responded with simple right wing talking points and few whoppers like the one about supporting a personhood amendment, but being all aboard with women’s rights.
She is a dangerous character, but apparently she has her people working deep in the media, spinning all reporting on her. Notice for example the up front mention of her in the Guard. That is standard procedure for these releases. Lets drape Joni in a flag and just dare someone to say something bad. How in the world driving trucks makes someone a Medal of Honor heroine is beyond me, but that is how she is constantly being presented.
Braley got her to admit she doesn’t support the minimum wage. He got her to say she doesn’t know if global warming is men made or not, and she admitted she wants to get rid of the dept. of education. I think it was enough to bring any democrat who was leaning toward Ernst back to Braley. I also think that Braley did good enough for the undecided who were leaning for Braley, but was uncommitted to break for him.
Even Iowa conservatives don’t deserve a senator like Ernst.
She is appallingly stupid and committed to remaining so.
Ernst said “personal health care decisions out of our hands.” so says the would be abortion banner
Not to mention, is “personal health care decisions out of our hands” the new RWNJ code for “not living with/dying of otherwise preventable conditions”?
hell yeah the Koch bros on the ballot as they are financing every republican election demanding candidates like Ernst carry out their agenda. The proof rests in the reality of what is happening today
Kochs max out for Iowa Republican
Joni Ernst – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Industries.
Whatevs. Iowa is set to glibly contribute to the oligarchy this November. Lost cause. Idiots tapdancing on their graves of their own welfare.
Perhaps I’m missing something. Why would the Register poll prior to the debate, rather than after it?
Cab someone give the logic for that?
Don’t read too much into the comments at The Hill. The Hill’s comment section is Trollheim. Every story there is overrun by Fox-toxxed wingnuts. No one knows why they started congregating there, though I expect it probably started with some Drudge links. But at this point, it’s unreclaimable by the sane unless The Hill wants to shut down its comments and lose the ad revenue stream they provide. Which it clearly does not.
There’s a school of thought that says you want to wait a few days after a debate to poll and allow people whose minds were only temporarily changed to revert back to the biases that form their baseline. So if you don’t poll before the debate, you’ve got no data to talk about at all for few days.
Correction: SHE doesn’t have “her people” deep in the media spinning all the reporting on her. The KOCH machine is doing that for her. She is just a puppet doing what she is told.
“Tried” to tie her to the Kochs. Not “raised her close ties to the Koch Brothers” or referred to the vast amount of money the Kochs are spending to try to get her elected. Nope, not AP. Instead, as usual, AP fairly and balancely balanced a statement by a Democrat about a Republican so that a verifiable fact became just one more “he-said she-said on the one hand on the other hand and who knows what the truth is?” thing that got said.
This woman is demonstrably so deeply in thrall to Kochtopus Empire that her lips are chapped and her knees are callused from all the kneeling and kissing of their rings she has to do. Her agenda of “simplifying” taxes and “cutting burdensome regulations on job creators” is code for “cut taxes on the Kochs and gut labor, safety and environmental regulations that the Kochs hate.” But hey, that’s just another thing that got said, too.
It’s no different anywhere else for the most part. CNN’s Disqus based article commentary sections are also reliably Trollheim. They shut the CNN Ticker’s comments off because too many liberals were able to get a word in edgewise, which generally involved inconvenient facts and statistics getting posted that undermined CNN’s chosen false-equivalence narrative. Poof. Gone. Now all that’s left is the astroturf sockpuppet army the Teatrolls have created.
Koch sucking has it’s liabilities…like coming back to bite you in the ass during debates.
Does anyone care that Tea Birchers have blocked congress since 2010. We will do everything to block Obamas agenda, Tea Bircher mantra spoken by Mitch McConnel.
