Preemptively trying to keep the state from taking the minor kids away from these “model” parents is my guess.
I have a couple of fundamentalist, conservative friends on Facebook and, to them, this story represents an assault on Christianity.

There are only so many younger sisters in that age range for big brother Josh to have molested.
It doesn’t even require shrewd deduction to narrow down the possibilities. And, is it better for the sisters that didn’t get molested/diddled/raped by their brother to have to go through life with everyone speculating that they did?
They should stand up and say, it wasn’t me, that’s all I know.
The Duggars have scammed America and worse, they have violated their own family and faith and still are. The lies/deception continue.

I think they’re probably more pissed that the Andy Griffith veneer was ripped off of THEIR family and they were revealed to be less than perfect. Or as I call it, FUBAR.

The DCFS (or whatever the AR version of that is) should definitely look into the welfare of the kids who remain in the house. The parents let 5 of their kids be molested by a sibling, and noticed nothing? Maybe, but the state has an interest to make sure the other kids are safe.
ETA: It is, in fact, the Department of Children and Family Services. Maybe they’ve already done a full investigation, and they found nothing beyond these incidents, but the political favoritism the family’s being shown now sure makes me suspicious of that.

I don’t know what this pols agenda is, but it was always my understanding that juvenile records remained sealed forever.
This post says the chief released the report in consultation with the city attorney but I’m having a hard time understanding any basis for the release. If we assume it was a FOIA request for any records related to this family, why would the juvenile’s name be redacted? It doesn’t make any sense to me.

The fundies demand that they and only they can release information about sex abuse…they need to make sure that it will not affect their group. There is a name for that - fascism.

No, the real victim is the Republican Party hiding behind the sanctimonious pricks that comprise the Duggar Family, or at least the adults who speak on behalf of the family. Wringing their hands as they have, about how doing anything to normalize gay people would be harmful to children and at the same time harboring a child molester. And whatever they say, no one got real counseling because if they did a report would have issued to the state of Arkansas under its mandatory reporting laws. It wouldn’t surprise me if they hired a lawyer to figure out what kind of counsellor (like a minister) they could consult without having to go through mandatory reporting.

I don’t think anyone’s names were included, but the fact that Josh Duggar more or less stated that it referred to him, the report does note the pertinent family relationships, which would make it fairly obvious who else is being referred to.

Andy Griffith was a fine man. The Duggers could not hold a candle to him. Back in the 80’s a bunch of NC Democrats and Independents wanted to recruit him to run against Jesse Helms. Griffith was running 10 points ahead of him. What a race that would have been.

I knew Andy was a Democrat but never knew about the effort to pit him against Helms. That would have been epic!
