That’s nice dear…but are you going to actively fight the GOP to stop the bigotry or are you going to be one of those fair weather friends I keep hearing about.

This act of contrition is welcome, but maybe it’s something in the water in Utah.

Donald Trump’s brash swagger and outlandish behavior have made him so unpopular in Utah that a new poll shows the state could swing to Hillary Clinton in November, potentially becoming the first time in 52 years that a Democrat has won the Beehive State.

Bravo! Really. This is no baby step. Good for him.

That was powerful and heartfelt. I understand he is in favor of assault weapons ban,

This is beautiful. This is what change looks like.

That was quite powerful and I appreciate him being willing to say that in public. I hope he is correct about the better angels of our nature and becoming another great generation through kindness.

I posted “It’s progress” in the thread about Gretchen Carlson coming around on assault style weapons and same here, this is progress. These kind of things change because one at a time, someone on the other side changes their mind and the more we have in common with them the more likely they’ll be willing to listen to us on other issues. It’s a shame it took a tragedy to move them but I consider that a little bit of good coming out of this tragic event.

I welcome any and every ally in the fight against homophobia. And I welcome any bit of common sense that infiltrates today’s GOP.

The lawmaker went on to say that there are no easy solutions to the problem of gun violence.

I would suggest, Mr. Cox, that universal background checks and outlawing the sales of assault rifles might be a good place to start.

GOP: He will be primaried and expunged. Traitor.

Yes. This is the slow road to tolerance we are all on.

Damn…that’s flat out snarkproof. I guess I’ll go get a cup of coffee.

Whoa. Thank you, Lt. Gov. Cox! Sincerely, I mean that – thank you.

Glimmers of hope for some who have been too blind to see.
Good words and now we’ll look forward to good deeds!?!?

Good for him. Once you’re inculcated with negative feelings about people who are different it’s an effort to rise above that. And sometimes the few hysterical holdouts against inclusion obscure the general progress represented by people like this guy. Good stuff.

This latest tragedy appears to have pulled at the conscience and heart strings of many people who have traditionally been on the other side.

I welcome the change of heart and hope it helps us effect political change.

unless he is primaried…and wins anyway because drip by drip the water wears away the stone.

Finally—a Republican I can respect for his remarks about gay people.
