Although I do think this latest saga is an important step in the process, I don’t think it will actually have much impact on the base. They don’t actually see Donnie as one of them, rather he’s an “instrument of God”, sent to smite the heathen libruls. Sure, he’s offensive, but he drives those libruls nuts, so it’s all good. And the Russians? Well, if Donnie’s job is to smite the libruls, and they help him do it? Well, they must be an instrument of God, as well!
I think we’ll need video of Donnie actively trashing the base while sucking up to Hillary, while helping her format the hard drive on her rogue email server. Maybe, just maybe, then they’ll question their choice. Until then, it’s about peeling away the last few traditional Conservatives who still remain in the Republican party. That’ll let us stop the trashing of Obamacare, which is the best we can do until the impeachment goes through…
