Yeah, it was pretty badly executed by Bush, and clearly showed that he had been planning it. (which is why I am sure that his campaign planted the editorial in the first place…its classic Bush Machine tactics).
Rubio was well prepared for the attack, which of course never brought up the problem of his attendance for the past 5 years. And he pretty much smacked Bush around like a rag doll. Bush never recovered after that.

Classic out-of-touch Bush move to think a senator’s attendance record the year he is mounting a presidential election campaign will be anything to raise hay about. Most of us can only wish Jeb!'s bro mailed in his attendance each and every day of his eight years in office.

If this was a GOP strategist’s idea of game changing… Bush’s interjection was so mild, so easily dominated by Rubio, it was pathetic. And Rubio was giving a pretty bad answer to the moderator’s question. Jeb!'s hopeless
Bush would have been much smarter to concern-troll (love that phrase): “Well Marco, it must be tough with your lack of experience to keep all the balls in the air. Maybe you should talk to your constituents more about it…” AND Bush should have given himself plausible deniability that the FL opinion piece came from his SuperPac

The best part (or worst for a Bush supporter) was when he broke into that Bush smirk that they all have right after he finished his attack on Rubio…and watching it slowly disappear as Rubio struck back and Bush realized he had nothing.

Message to GOP primary voters: Rubio’s a LIBERAL! He wants to give AMNESTY to illegals! He doesn’t share our AMERICAN values! He’s co-sponsored bills with AL FRANKEN and BERNIE SANDERS! He even co-sponsored the politically correct “Girls Count Act” with liberal ARAB Democrat senator Jeanne Shaheen!

I’m wondering how Rick Wilson came to know about Jeb’s strategy. I assume he isn’t in Jeb’s camp, otherwise why would he leak this?
On the other hand, if he’s not one of Jeb’s confidante, there’s a serious leak somewhere. No wonder Rubio crushed him on this, he knew it was coming.
