Discussion: GOP State Lawmakers Push For Restrictive 'Heartbeat' Abortion Bans

So then all these states will enter into the Pence zone. Will all these fetuses that fail to be born because of miscarriage will trigger an investigation into the host mother and her OB/GYN because they failed to produce a live birth?

Republican Gov. Bill Lee has said he would sign the Tennessee bill, downplaying constitutional concerns as an issue for the courts, not his office.

Gov. Bill Lee of Tennessee how much money will the state have to appropriate to maintain an office of the the pregnancy police? How far will insurance costs rise with this added oversight into each and every pregnancy? How will they track which women are pregnant and which are not?
Let’s see who is really a fiscal conservative or just a plain old authoritarian.

I’ll take “authoritarian” for 500, Alex. Then I’ll take “hypocrite” for 1,000.

Sounds like the reason for abortions are unwanted pregnancies (whether they are the result of rape, incest or failed birth control methods… or even ‘inconvenience’).
If an abundance of birth control treatment or practices were available to people, there probably would be far less unwanted pregnancies.
My belief is that preventing a pregnancy from beginning is better than aborting one in progress.

Are we permanently ‘Stuck in Stupid’?

"…the child in the womb, that is living distinct from their mother, …

Distinct from the mother? Not even close. At six weeks that fetus is 100% dependent on the body of the mother for survival. There is nothing separate about it. Nothing.

Plus, at six weeks the part of the fetus that makes the heart beat sound isn’t quite a heart yet. it is a collection of tissue that moves and makes a tiny noise, but it can’t even begin to sustain life outside the mother’s womb.

Not only do these bozos not know how pregnancy works, they are just plain sadistic.

The “Pro-Birth” party strikes again - because these states will still abandon you afterwards with reduced services and education…

If you can’t physically yourself have a abortion, sit down and shut the phuck up!

Anti-abortionist’s answer the following question!
Why does the fetus have to be born and live before the social Security Admin. will register it and give it it’s own number?

Any action like this should be preceded by a GOP brainwave test. No brainwave, no job for you.

The ban will not move forward.

Oh, well, it’s different once they’re outside of, y’know, the “host body”, I think they’re calling it now. (The quaint, antiquated term was “woman”, I believe. From here we move on to “receptacle,” “container”, “vessel”, or perhaps “incubator”.)

Also different, of course, if black or brown. Guardian of the Nation’s Virtue Bill Bennett did tell us once, after all, that the national crime rate would go down if all black babies were aborted. (In all due fairness, he later “clarified” by stating that he wasn’t actually, y’know, advocating aborting all African American pregnancies, but he did stand by his claim that the crime rate would go down if we did. This of course was in 2005, back when the Republican Party was Totally Not Sexist Or Racist At All, Because Of Course, It’s Just Recently Gone A Little Crazy Under Donald Trump. I heard that last part recently from Jennifer Rubin and David Brooks, so I know it must be true.)

So very evil and disgusting. As usual, the intent is more dead women.

Keep your fucking male hands off of women’s medical issues.
