Discussion for article #230652
The fact that she needed to pray to realize that what she said was so mean spirited is telling.
Apology not acceptedâŚfuckwadâŚ
Just imagine the uproar if a Democrat called the Palin kids trailer trash for their behavior: brawling, cussing, getting pregnant out of wedlockâŚ! The Palins would immediately play the victims and cry to the press. The ObamaâsâŚnot so much.
This is the same brilliant Elizabeth Lautner who Twattered her love of shagging
Lautnerâs former boss? Deadbeat dad Rep. Joe Walsh
Yada yada yada, stupid republican bitch.
Their clothes are normal, completely acceptable and age appropriate. Trouble is, itâs back to the old thing that many people see black children as much older than they really are. Sasha is 13, but apparently to the staffer she looks like she should be at a bar. Ugh.
I also hate that the pics showing the girls laughing and smiling with their father during the same event are not the ones being spread around.
You have to give her credit though. At least her statement displayed genuine self-awareness and regret, unlike the typical Republican âIâm sorry if anyone was quote-offended-unquote âapologyââ. I give her props for her humanityâa rare thing in todayâs GOP.
She only apologized after being savaged on social media. She did this as an attempted PR recovery. Interesting that your inaugural post would be to defend the indefensible.
I wonder how many hours of âprayerâ were required to make this shrew understand her ignorant, hateful screed was wrong and demeaning to the office she holds?
Lauten apologized on Friday in a Facebook post that she also later deleted.
Nothing screams sincerity more than the delete key.
Maybe she took a poll at the Bible and Policy Study and the Christianist posse, ignoring their own spawnâs sloth, could not live with âapologizingâ to the Blahs in the White House.
To these moral defectives, nothing says RETREAT more than an apology, even a bullsh*t Gooper one.
After many hours of prayer, talking to my parents and re-reading my words online
sooooo⌠a communications aide doesnât understand how publicly criticizing the teenage daughters of the president â while throwing in a nasty shot at the parents â is possibly not the classiest thing to doâŚ
OhâŚif ONLY Sasha and Malia could comport themselves like those Republican mavens of good taste and decorumâŚWillow and Bristol.
I swear to gawwdââŚItâs ALWAYS âOpposite Dayâ at the GOP.
I wonât post the links to photos of Jenna taking off her bikini bottom under her skirt in full public view, but theyâre out there for anyone to Google. Real classy, that one.
I think what she said about the Obamas was repellent and stupid, and I am not âdefendingâ it. I merely pointed out that she offered a genuine apology, which is rare on her side of the fence. If you canât accept an apology, no matter the motive behind it, you canât claim the higher ground. Maybe sheâll reflect on the ugliness and dogma of the worldview sheâs adopted, and decide to change. If you donât want to encourage that possibility, then youâre obviously content with a perpetual bitter partisan divide. The Sarah Palins of the world can never apologize or admit they were wrong, and the Mitt Romneys of the world believe âno apologiesâ is a mark of character. Call me naive, but I hope progressives are bigger and better than that. But some of the bitchery and snark on here seems to be right on her level.
When you write about a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old, calling them classless and telling them they look like they belong in a bar, you are simply not a nice person.
.
The Twitter backlash was just the beginning; things are likely not going to be great for Ms. Lauten when she walks into the office on Monday. It couldnât happen to a more deserving person.
She offered the apology, then deleted it. No replacement, either.
