Discussion: GOP Senators Show No Signs Of Rallying Around Ted Cruz In 2016

Crubio are outsiders since they started pimping themselves out to the highest bidder to become the nom nom nominee.

Awkward chuckles, long silences, and evading are the Senatorsā€™ coded ways of saying that Ted Cruz is an insufferable fuckface.

Shorter Thune: ā€œWeā€™re all pretty stupid, and he took advantage of that fact to aggrandize himself. We donā€™t like that.ā€

Or one hand fapping.

ā€œBottom line is I think heā€™s more electable than Trump. I donā€™t know how much that is.ā€

Only a fool would say that. Cruz is trailing Trump in a race that just involves GOPā€™ers. How does Sen. Graham think heā€™ll do once Democrats join the show? Neither Cruz or Trump are electable. Itā€™s not that one is more electable than the other. Neither will ever be president.

ā€œItā€™s for the best.ā€ Any numerous GOP senators pulling the lever for Hillary on Election Day.

Not even his one-time BSFF, Mike Lee (Insane-Utah).

For a while, those 2 were much depicted on long homoerotic walks, sharing glasses of homo, palā€™ing around like domestic terrorists. Now, not even Blanche DuGraham (R-SC) finds them sufficiently safe to contemplate approaching. McConnell probably has each in segregated seating set up outside the R Senate Caucus room. Theyā€™re the Senateā€™s Syphlides:
Tall and wan and soft and icky
The Boys from Treponema keep trying
To turn us all toward theocracy
And if they succeed, whenever they win
Weā€™re all screwed.
Oh ā€¦ but we hate them so badly
Each ā€¦ is like Hannibal Lecter
Yes ā€¦ I would give one nut gladly
To send each to the private sector
So we donā€™t have to hear them both hector.

ā€œOthers told Bloomberg they were still salty about Cruzā€™s driving role in the 2013 government shutdown.ā€

Did I just read the phrase ā€œStill saltyā€ in a news article? That better be a direct quoteā€¦

Until, if and when, Cruz gets nominated, then they will fold like a greased umbrella, hypocrites all.

Ohā€¦ They actually would love to get behind Ted ā€¦

But only so they could push him out of a cargo hold ā€”

Cruz: I am so much against establishment that no one in Washington wants to endorse me.

Itā€™s going to be nasty enough when the day comes that they have to commit to the R nominee. No point in rushing it.

I donā€™t know why any GOP Senator would rally to Cruz. There is no evidence that he would be a better GE candidate than Trump or better help the GOP to keep the US Senate.

The Curse of the Slope-Browed Illiterate. There are so many of them that they can make a political party dominant, but every 60 years they experience some atavistic death-urge and destroy whatever party is hosting them at the moment.

I would have absolutely no problem, or would rather be highly appreciative, if from now on TPM publishes Cruz articles without big fucking creepy photos of his face. Thank you for your consideration.

Even though the Texas Republican establishment has endorsed Cruz it is notable that the senior Senator, John Cornyn, has been conspicuous by his silence.

They just canā€™t get past their antipathy and I do not blame them one bit. Itā€™s the only slice of humanity Iā€™ve seen out of Republicans lately - their deep distaste for Rafael.

Teddy, itā€™s so much nicer to be liked by your colleagues, especially when youā€™re part of a parliamentary body.
Itā€™s even nicer to be liked by your constituents. All EFFECTIVE leaders are liked. When youā€™re disliked youā€™re on your own and may even find yourself sabotaged.
Iā€™m reminded of the the old ā€œsociogramsā€ ā€“ who likes who. Teddy is that little circle off to the left all by himself.
Poor dumb bastard. He has probably been unable to detect cues all his life.

You are most clever, grasshopper.

Iā€™ve always envied anyone who could parody popular lyrics. Itā€™s not easy.
