Discussion for article #228636
The political climate after the midterm elections is difficult to predict, but it’s a foregone conclusion that Republicans will pick up seats in both chambers on Nov. 4.
BS. Does the person who wrote this article have a crystal ball, or is he another one of those self-fulfilling prophecy types who actually wants Republicans to win, so he can be vindicated?
“As you know, the current CR will expire on December 11, 2014. Congress will undoubtedly have its feet held to the fire by the American people to pass another stop-gap appropriations bill avoiding a government shutdown,” the senators wrote to Boehner
Wait, what? The American people need to hold your feet to the fire to do your frickin job? Perhaps you should review what your responsibilities are.
And these are the clowns who will be running the circus if the GOP takes over the Senate. Vote, people.
So the Republicans are demanding insurance companies be allowed to cancel your insurance when you get sick and out right denying for preexisting conditions, including you were a victim of abuse. And no insurance for the working poor. Yes, this is the Republican party people keep electing to represent them.
50+ attempts at a shut down of the ACA and the ACA being upheld by the Supreme Court weren’t enough to get the point across??
((facepalm))
I keep saying that for some reason I cannot fathom people will vote against what is obviously against their own self interest.
Ah yes…back to the old refrain “Kill the guvament! Kill the guvament!”
They still can’t believe that the Shutdown blew up in their face after practically panting to do it the first time.
And the low-info masses are about to give these cruel men complete control of the legislative branch?
Is anyone paying attention?
Bueller?
BUELLER?
Just say to them: “The very second we hear anything about Shutdowns, we’re leaving. We’re not even going to talk to you. We are simply walking out.”
All it takes is guts.
more confrontational? what’s more confrontational than opposing everything. fist fights?
Why does the party of Lincoln hate America so much?
I am going to amend part of your post to change “low info” to something even worse:
“Low info” describes those who have little to no interest or commitment to exercising their right to vote or even to pay attention to politics. “Negative info” voters are, in their own way, worse, because instead of complete dis-interest, there is misguided interest. These voters are also of the sort to be Old, racist and extremely motivated to vote.
If the cohorts associated with Democratic voting had the same degree of interest in “politics” as Evangelicals, neo-Confederates, FUX viewers, geriatrics or any of the other misguided souls most of this drivel is meant to cater to, then McConnell , Cruz, Paul and Rubio would be booking weekly flights to Kenya so as to learn more about how Mr. Obama came upon his great wisdom.
How do these guys expect to get someone to fight for the kind of America they want to create?
I’m a federal worker. I don’t want another vacation–paid or unpaid. I get paid to do a job for my fellow Americans. Let me do it.
Both you and I know why it happens, but we’re powerless to stop it.
Underlying the so-called “academic” explanations, there is an appeal to the crass and stupid parts of human nature.
Every time I hear about the GOP wanting to take away my health insurance I get angry. Very angry. In fact, I am starting to feel real hatred toward these people, most of whom I have never met, but, yet, insist that I should die because of a medical condition.
The GOP has cottoned to the fact that Age Related Behavior (Old People Vote More) seems to rule the day.
Proof?
Ask someone if they have ever seen a Republican advocate taking away the as-is Medicare of actual (high-voting) people over 65.
They only advocate vouchers in place of Medicare for those whom they have deemed as not interested in voting.
The same people GOP doesn’t mind paying exhorbitant student loans.
The same people the GOP doesn’t mind taking unemployment insurance from
The same people the GOP doesn’t mind limiting reproductive care for
etc.
And until those people demonstrate that they are a viable voting bloc to be feared, the GOP will get worse. There will be no contraint on their part. And the MSM has Marching Orders to exercise the “false equivalency narrative” (e.g. “both parties are at fault for the mess we’re in”).
Voting?
People have short memories, especially if whatever they are told to “remember” did not happen directly to them. The idea of people 50 to 100 years ago dying to get people the right to vote wears thin next to XBOX, 2014.
I now have the mel-odious tone of BenStein looping in my head…
Thanks a lot! lol
