i think that was what got us to where we are now with the 'get off my lawn president" grampa trump
Love this!
added bonus: you get to pay the tax share for multimillionaires and billionaires so that their children donât have to pay taxes either
itâs called republican governance, you bought it america, now kick back and enjoy the 'benefits"
Ahem, Sen - just the House is at risk? Oh on this vote at this moment. Donât you realize how perilous this is for all of the GOP? Not just this vote but all that rely on fixes that will ensure rate hikes (because getting rid of the mandate), that will be less affordable (tax credits that rely on undoing the ACA taxes will never be big enough), and that relies on fixes that drain the Medicare budget (as this current one does) ensuring that medicare is at risk as well as medicaid?
Glad you have a (short sighted) clue - but you really need glasses or a better tea-leaves reader to see how this whole long fight instead of serious policy work has been and will continue to be a political-suicide Kabuki Dance.
Nope, because of this statement:
âAs itâs written today, this bill in the House of Representatives cannot pass the Senate, and I believe it would have adverse consequences for millions of Americans and it wouldnât deliver on our promises,â Cotton said.
No bill that he can devise that would also pass the House and Senate would deliver on their promises. None. That he still doesnât get that, or that heâs deliberately hiding his head in the sand, tells you all you need to know about that Harvard education.
HmmâŚmaybe we should sue Harvard?
So basically the beard is the equivalent of Perryâs glasses? Makes him look all smart and full of gravitas and all?
Edited to add: Damn⌠should have read the thread first. Already covered above. I should have known that would be too obvious to miss.
âGOP Senator: Repeal Bill May Put House Republican Majority âAt Risk Next Yearââ
I fervently hope so. And if it takes you down, Tom-Boy, tant pis pour vous.
you notice, it was all about political power and Not about what is good for people, or what is right or compassionate. those concepts have been forgotten.
I still cannot envision a scenario where voters can overcome the Republican gerrymandering in the House.
I can, however, imagine a scenario where a bunch of Republican Congressmen get primaried and replaced in 2018 with other Republicans.
Yes, Tom, thatâs the plan. Hereâs hoping your comrades in the Kremlinâs western branch GOP ignore your warnings.
Yeah. Cause less republicans stinking up the place is way more important than millions losing healthcare-huh Tehran Tom?
âŚRepublicans will put their majority in the House âat risk next yearâ if they vote in its favor.
We can but hope.
I can. And I believe that more would have lost (at least locally in my red midwestern area), had there not been the Comey letter - which took the wind out of sales on races up and down the ticket all the way up to the Governors race. Blowout it would not have been, but more upsets. Now have the wind and updraft come around blowing the other way (like in 2006 but with 2x the energy) I think the gerrymander can be overcome - under the right conditions. Who knew the GOP would rush to set those conditions up so quickly.
You might remember last week I posted an old article from January on RoseAnn DeMoro, head of the nurses union, saying that she was counting on Rump to deliver single payer.
This is her tweet from today,
#AHCA is a get richer quick scheme for the 1%, millions will lose health insurance: https://t.co/d5bin60Nny #sundaymorning #AMJOY #Trumpcare pic.twitter.com/echNVmzLm6
â RoseAnn DeMoro (@RoseAnnDeMoro) March 12, 2017
Whatever made her think for a second she was going to get single payer out of Trump? That is the dumbest motherfucking idea ever. How in the world did she get to be head of anything?
Advice - donât hold your breath waiting for him to get a second clue.
Sweet Jesus, maybe there is justice in this world.
Damn straight! Get you priorities in order!
Sen.Tom Cotton (R-AR) said on Sunday that House Republicansâ bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act âcannot pass the Senateâ and that Republicans will put their majority in the House âat risk next yearâ if they vote in its favor.
âŚ
In this case Mr Cotton, I do so hope you are correct. And I hope every GOPer in both chambers gets hammered the next time they come up for reelection. Perhaps then the adults can be in charge.
Repealing something affordable for who knows what does not seem to be a sensible tactic to me.
This shows the difference when someone switches from the House to the Senate. Cotton would have been in the straight repeal group of representatives. Now he sees where Democrats and more moderate Republicans can gum up the works.
