Discussion: GOP Senator Pushes Back On Trump's Attacks On Press: 'It's Not Helpful'

What’s also “not helpful” is his irresponsible support for repealing the ACA with no replacement.

It might even be called heartless and cruel. And at the risk of being called uncivil, may I point out that people will suffer?

Just call him a dumbass and get it over with. It’s plain as day, we all know it. Quit (in the words of the modern GOP) being so “politically correct”. Trump is a nut and a dumbass.

He’s one of those people who believes that everything (aside from the military) should be done by the states. That’s because he apparently believes that we all still live in the horse and buggy era and no one ever crosses state lines.

Visiting Omaha from Des Moines and you don’t have Nebraskacare? No treatment for you!.

Words are empty, Sasse, do something about it. Impeach.

So “unhelpful.” So “disappointing.” So “distracting.”

Such beta wusses.

What is with these guys? “Not helpful,” “not useful,” “not appropriate,” “not worthy of the office,” and so on in response to the president’s deranged antics over the last four days. They always define his behavior by saying what it isn’t instead of actually saying what it is: deranged, delusional, idiotic, infantile, stupid, destructive. And when is one of these Republicans going to put down his or her smelling salts long enough to say that the president owes Mika and Joe personal apologies and the American public a general apology for disrepecting women and the First Amendment? How about a little outrage, guys? You’ll be late to the party, but it’s okay to be deliberate so long as you get to the right conclusion.

Senator Sasse: Call Trump what he really is: a RINO.

If a quarter of Congressional Republicans do so … and refuse to pass legislation until Trump puts his junk back inside his pants … I think you will get His attention.

Until then, you’re just another clown in His :circus_tent:

“It’s not helpful?” That’s an understatement and a weenie reply. Sad.

As adolescent and pathetic as Donnie is, his enablers’ predictably mealy-mouthed lamentations are worse. YOU VOTE FOR EVERYTHING TRUMP WANTS. AN EMPTY CHAIR WOULD PROVIDE MORE ACCOUNTABILITY.

Senator Sasse plays the role of the fabled “Reasonable Republican” for TV. But with his votes, he’ll support the overwhelming majority of Trump’s policies and work to gradually chip away at social programs. Case in point, his plan to repeal Obamacare now and replace later. It’s just another iteration of republican efforts to destabilize health markets and sabotage Obamacare.

It’s not helpful…

That is yet another “Detest the crime but not the criminals” kinda feel-good comment. Notice how those GOPers have carefully danced around and avoided condemning Trump himself for being evil, being incompetent, being absolutely unfit to serve as president.

I believe there are situations where you must detest the criminals themselves to get to the real bottom of the problem.

He doesn’t care that it would throw 30 million off their insurance. It would be better if he was simply ignorant, but he’s fully cognizant and is just that callous.
