Discussion: GOP Senator Dings Scott Walker For Attacking Dem Opponent's Wealth

Discussion for article #226000

Look pal. The first rule of American politics in the 21st century is that you don’t attack rich people.

Women? Kids? Immigrants? Homeless? Immigrant little girls sleeping in kennels? Sure. But back off the rich folk, pal.

Those attacks have focused on her family’s company, Trek Bicycling, outsourcing jobs to China and its failure to pay its “fair share” of corporate taxes, in the words of one state GOP official.

Basically Walker is attacking the entire GOP platform. No wonder Johnson is calling him out on it.

An attack on one rich person is an attack on all rich people.

Sounds efficient.

Oh, and to all the dipshits out there, being born into a family with money is not, in fact, “success”.

Burke’s career was with a company (Trek) her Dad started from scratch. Johnson’s worked in a company where his career was advanced by marrying the boss’s daughter. There’s nothing wrong with being wealthy and helping others to get there too. Walker is a career politician–legislature, county executive and governor.

A Republican is attacking somebody for being rich. It is sort of like seeing an elephant fly. I have now seen everything.

Scott Walker is being an idiot. He is just attacking someone for being wealthy. People try to claim that this is what Obama did to Romney, but Obama was attacking Romney’s policies (which happen to help him), not his wealth alone.

So, you’re saying that Burke got her job via nepotism and Scott Walker got his through the hard work of marrying someone with money?

Not quite. Re-read what you responded to.

Oh, but the wingnuts just loooove that strawman argument they created that Libs/Dems hate rich people because they’re jealous of their success.

Johnson’s warning the dropout that far more damaging things could be said about him …so STFU

“From my standpoint, we ought to be talking about how do you make Wisconsin a more attractive place for risk taking, business investment, business expansion.”

Why, hasn’t little Scottie Walker been doing that for the past 3 1/2 years? No? Just the opposite you say?

Hmmm.

Scott Walker approved of all the things of which he now criticizes his opponent. What a hypocrite.

“What we should be doing is incentivizing success.”

Said the man who married into a fortune. It was a success for him, you gotta give him that much.

The poor filthy rich. Nobody respects them any longer. Quit picking on them before they cry…or Boehner cries for them?

But Sen. Johnson, don’t you know that Scott Walker is a hose bag?

Though they deny it the GOP has always used envy as a wedge. They use envy against Labor (cushy union jobs and benefits) and against the Poor (using food stamps for crabs legs). It’s a strange tactic that they usually don’t like used against it’s natural targets, the wealthy. Walker is trash and so is Senator Pedo-Protector.

Working in a company that your father started from scratch is not “nepotism!” What a silly comment
