We are!!! You summed up Kirk’s opportunistic stance perfectly (and the irony of him suggesting that his peers “man up” is really rich)
Kirk said Friday that Republican senators need to “just man up and cast a vote”
The problem is that Repugs lost their manhood a long time ago!
This man is bread. Not yet toast, but he will be soon.
Ahhh, yes . . . I thought so . . . . {{checking news}} . . . yep; he’s in for a tough re-election against a very formidable Democrat.
Trust me, that’s the only reason he’s doing this.
Then switch parties, asshole.
What’s that? Thought not.
You’ll be voting for McConnell again as your leader, you say? Thought so.
I don’t think any of us can imagine sheer agony of it. The closest thing I have experienced was in a recent encounter with my wife. She asked me, “Would like me to make dinner tonight, dear?” And then “Yes or no?” Oh, I felt as if a knife had been driven into my heart! I nearly collapsed under the pressure. Senator you have my deepest admiration.
His hypocritical, bombastic GOP colleagues will understand that “a [Repub Senator in a tough re-election campaign’s] gotta do what a [Repub Senator in a tough election campaign’s] gotta do.”
Garland is such a radical, polarizing figure, what can the poor Republicans do?
I see Tammy Duckworth is tightening the screws. Good work, Soon-to-be-Senator Congresswoman!
Let’s not forget their 3 day work weeks and the numerous recesses they have.
Since I don’t have a TV, the closest approximation I have to reality TV is “Real Senators.” Each week one Republican Senator elects to do her(his) job, and is thus voted out of the Tea Party bubble.
Let the show begin …
Just like the BS that Collins and Snowe would spit out to keep their jobs.
But when the vote counts, they do what The Turtle tells them to do.
Send $ to Duckworth!
Right. He sees the handwriting on the wall and desperately wants to buck the tide that is looking more and more like it will drown his re-election bid.
He’s trying desperately to keep his job.
I don’t like him, but I have to give him props for publicly bucking leadership.
I don’t know, I hear she’s Anti-Soldier. You can tell, because she’s a Democrat.
Well I, for one, certainly appreciate his explanation of a Senator’s role and I needed his reminder that there is a human toll imposed by Obama and his insistence on making nominations to vacancies in Federal courts.
School House Rock taught me about how Congress makes laws, but it was all from the perspective of the Bill and totally ignored the travails of the human beings that were unwittingly dragged into the maelstrom created by the Bill as it moved through the legislative process.
It’s more of the same dumb show. A vote is meaningless since they will say no automatically to Obama, if history has taught us anything.
Only if challenged by a strong Democratic opponent. Note to selves: need more strong Democratic opponents!
