Discussion for article #223986

He must think that the ACA covers the cost of diapers

You stole my line!

Better to just elect the Dem, who actually believes in Obamacare.

I was going to say he needs meds to treat his STDs, but the diapers line is classier and funnier.

Q: Will he expand Medicaid in Lousiana?
A: Depends.

Didnā€™t realize Vitter was such a RINO!

I didnā€™t realize he was running for governor. Does this mean heā€™s relinquishing his Senate seat? Or is he trying to have it both ways?

No chin. Stupid looking. Shitty tie.

Say hello to the next governor of LA.

Kind of makes you wonder why heā€™d take Governor over Senator. Better chance for graft as Guv?

Will he be a good governor? Depends!

No, he is having it both ways. The election is in 2015, and if he loses, he keeps his seat in the Senate. If he wins, he resigns and as governor, picks his replacement.

This is one of those politically expedient moves, out manuvering Jindal on the expansionā€¦one of many, many issues that Jindal has a problem with, even among the red voters in LA.

In Louisiana? Much better. Hell, back in the day Huey Long had everything wired for his graftā€¦he even had his own private army. It hasnā€™t changed all that much, mostly just the names and faces.

This is the bozo who pushed the amendment to eliminate health insurance subsidies for Congressional staff after they were required to use the insurance exchange rather than having employer-provided insurance.

And his support is contingent on fixing the current Medicaid program in Louisiana - and whose job is that?

Yeah, ACA adults ā€œDepend(s) on Vitterā€ nice bumper sticker.

If you believe ANYTHING Vitter says, I have this bridge I might be persuaded to part with.

I doubt JOHN Vitter will address undoing Jindalā€™s recently enacted legislation closing down of almost all of LAā€™s abortion clinics, for the health of women seeking them if course.

We know that the expansion of Medicare is possible because of the ACA but if you read the article never once is he quoted as mentioning ā€œObamaCareā€.Just the usual covering the working poor as long as it doesnā€™t take resources away from higher education. (in fact the article doesnā€™t mention ObamaCare and I doubt most casual readers would connect the two)

In other words heā€™s trying to get as many votes as possible by sounding reasonable and appealing to a wide swath of people. No way would he actually say ObamaCare in the context of how TPM is putting it. That would show the GOP was full of shit when demonizing the law, and he wouldnā€™t do that

What Dem? I sincerely doubt a decent one could be found to run ( and lose, sadly) and even if so, the national party will not put one dollar or a moments time into this ā€˜race.ā€™ And who could blame them for not? Doing it stupidly is a deeply loved trait in Louisiana. Remember, we REELECTED Jindal. SMFHā€¦

Is this the same attorney and Rhodes Scholar David Vitter of KKK and David Duke fame?
