Discussion: GOP Sen. Kennedy: 'Yeah, I Would Like To See' Trump's Tax Returns

Not like heā€™d do anything about it.

ā€œBecause heā€™s under auditā€ has all the rationale of postponing the engineering and maintenance inspection schedules of your local waste treatment facility because the monthly billing system is transitioning from a 1st of the month to the 15th cycle.

IRS audits Special Counsel, Barr announces report will be released ā€œwhen the audit is over, or, if that never happens, when sea levels have risen to engulf the Department if Justice.ā€

what a mealy-mouthed bunch of nothingness. trying to please everybody by equivocating on such a cut-and-dried issue is never successful.

He flipped, then he flopped within the same sentence. Jeeze pick a side John, that whole ā€œheā€™s under auditā€ has been disproved or is not a disqualifier for over 2 years.

if you take the President at his word

That is a disqualifying qualifier of the highest order.

ā€œYeah, I would like to. But I think he has, at least if you take the President at his word, a legitimate reason for not turning them over, he says heā€™s in the middle of an audit,ā€ he said. ā€œI take him at his word, and I respect that. I think all things being equal, I would like to see the Presidentā€™s taxes, I wouldnā€™t be adverse to turning over my taxes, I donā€™t have anything to hide.ā€

Uh oh, low blow !

The president has given you no reason to ā€œtake him at his wordā€ about anything, let alone regarding a so-called audit, senator. He could easily produce a notice from the IRS that he is being audited without any compromising personal info if that really was the case.
PS: Off topic, but, why is ā€œDude Looks Like a Ladyā€ stuck in my head right now?

Makes sense. Iā€™d really like to see my kidā€™s report card, but he says he canā€™t show it to me because his teacher is rechecking all the work heā€™s turned in to see if he cheated and I take him at his word. I mean, if someoneā€™s always in trouble with the IRS every year, itā€™s best that we just stay out of it and let them fight.

Thus said, Cohen said Trump isnā€™t being audited, but heā€™s an admitted liar who worked for a pathological liar, so he obviously canā€™t be trusted at all.

ā€œI take him at his word, and I respect that."

What kind of fool would take Trump, a pathological liar, at his word? I mean my god, heā€™s just recently been saying his father was born in Germany -you canā€™t take Trump at his word for anything, big or small.

Did JNK actually say ā€œadverseā€ I wonder? The word would be ā€œaverse.ā€

Trump is taking advantage of a quirk of human psychology which has been demonstrated in studies: if you give a reason for an action, people are more likely to believe youā€”even if the reason makes no sense.

I believe heā€™s congenially afflicted with a speech defect known as "being born with South "

Yes, I have the same affliction. However ā€¦

Plus, I know heā€™s smarter than that.

Twice now in two days, Iā€™ve found myself in agreement with Republicans. Is this upside-down world trying to right itself?
