Seriously? FOX Entertainment “News” much, Senator Thune? When will you be sending Murdoch and Company a letter with the intent to hold hearings? WTF?

Today’s GOP–We may be racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and misogynist, but no one, and we mean NO ONE, does falsely indignant like we do!

Cite the legal power to do this other than it wastes time in an election year.

And yeah, that will get millennials to vote Republican!

what are ya gonna do? revoke their FCC license?

nice try… I don’t much agree with Zuckerberg but if it were me I’d change the logo from thumbs up to the single finger salute and tell the Senator where to head in…

Yes, clearly it’s in the interests of smaller government for the Congress to be investigating the content relevancy algorithms of private social media companies.

The GOP Senator demands answers. Because a corporation with a political viewpoint is unheard of and not allowed in the US of A!

Zuckerberg to Senator Idiot: “Corporations are people, too!”

God forbid that a conservative Republican may accidentally get exposed to some semblance of the real world!

Yes…by all means! Investigate Facebook. God knows you’ve got nothing else on your plate.

“Facebook must answer these serious allegations and hold those responsible to account if there has been political bias in the dissemination of trending news.”

Why does the GOP hate free markets so much?

Why do Republicans love government regulations so much?

Oddly enough, Thune introduced an amendment in 2007 expressly preventing companies from engaging in any “fairness” doctrine.

But I suppose it only applied to requiring Fox to showing liberal views.

Thune and his ilk are full of shite! Imagine a Democratic committee calling Fox News before it to answer the same questions. Man, the Pubbies would be up in arms (which is sad as our Dem representatives should do the same now). Still, its not a news site and they can do anything they damn well please.

This is so fucking laughable. Under what power does this obvious know-nothing believe he can compel such an investigation? Facebook uses algorithms and algorithms are “manipulated,” as Thune accuses, by whatever guidelines the aggregator sets. LOL. OMG, this man is so stupid. There is no right or wrong way to set the “perimeters.” Seriously, FOX Entertainment does this is in real time – ON THE AIR. HuffPo does it. Buzzfeed. MSN. Nearly every “news” organization does this to varying degrees. Some use computer models, some use human brains. Is he going to call them into senate hearings?

And here I thought little Bobby Jindhal wanted them to stop being the party of stupid!

And Mark Zuckerberg’s response should be, “Go fuck yourself. We’re not a news organization (not that that matters anymore) and can “trend” whatever we want.”

Maybe this is Google +'s chance to make a dent in the social media market. They can set their algorithm to ‘wingnut’ and harvest that sweet nutjob demographic.

Yeah, that’s the ticket! They could increase users from 15 to 25 people in no time at all!

So it sounds like Thune thinks there should be some sort of, for a lack of a better phrase, “fairness doctrine” governing online news aggregartion sites.
