Discussion: GOP Seams Already Splitting Over Gov't Shutdown To Stop Immigration Action

Discussion for article #230133

These GOPers remind me of the people in the Middle East. Even when they win, they can’t stop fighting. If there’s no opponent, they turn on each other.

“No one ran on getting along with the president,” he said. “That’ll be the difficulty if folks turn around and do a 180 and say, 'Oh now we’re going to compromise with the president.”

True, you all ran as extremists, and think you won some huge mandate, when the truth is this was the lowest turnout for any election since WWII, and your brand and approval rating as a party is in the dumpster. The fact is you and your demented party knows that the President is doing what is well within his legal rights, and in fact back in the 1990’s your effing party begged the AG to basically do what this EO will do.

You have deluded your ignorant base into believing this is an illegal move by Obama, and that is an outright lie, that you now have to figure out how to deal with. There is no legal action you can take, and basically, if you cut some finding to the departments that handle immigration, you are just cutting off your nose to spite your face. Personally, I knew this was going to happen to you fools, so enjoy your brief stay in the majority for the next two years, because you are going to make a huge mess of everything, and 2016 aint no midterm year boys.
The big question is: Should Republicans be willing to shut down the government to block Obama’s unilateral moves on immigration?
The REAL question is will the GOP’s childish prank to shutdown the government have any effect whatsoever on what Obama actually does?

My bet is on NO!

Government shut down? It goes to show how terrified they are of the one thing their loony base yearns for the most, impeachment, that they should be so willing instead to reinforce their image as the party of hostage taking. Alas, the base will not be taken for dupes, and the dumb swing voters will sorely regret their low-information votes.

Just do it GOP.

Quit acting like a bunch of whiney-ass titty-babies and shutdown the Govt. and remind people why they should never vote GOP again.

And Republican leaders wonder why minorities, especially Latino, refuse to vote for them. They just keep alienating the minorities with their childish behavior.

Nothings more enjoyable than a RepubliKKKlan circular firing squad…that and its aftermath as the survivors cannibalize whatever remains.

Here’s a better way to punish Obama for his rumored executive order. Detonate a nuclear bomb in Topeka, Kansas, then attack ten elementary schools throughout the country with Freedom-AR-15s.

And then say there is a direct correlation to Benghazi?

Before you shutdown the government, can you pretty please vote to impeach President Obama. America wants to see that you Teahadists have balls.

“the president’s relationship with the Congress going forward”

What relationship is that? You have opposed, blocked and done everything possible to sabotage everything the POTUS has tried to do to move the country forward. And done so with utter disrespect and hypocritical behavior.

So you don’t have a relationship with the POTUS.

You have petulant, mindless rage and the behavioral instincts of your racist, ignorant, hate-filled base.

So GFY Congress.

And yet, for some strange and weird reason, American voters put these clowns in charge of the Senate and House.

“Huelskamp said that “nobody wants a shutdown,” but then he placed the responsibility on Obama if one occurred.”

They tried that before and the only thing that saved them was the bad Healthcare.gov rollout.
