Discussion: GOP Revolts: Republicans Against Trump's Emergency Aren't All Usual Detractors

If this stands, the Republicans cannot ever allow another free presidential election. The first action by a Democratic president will be to announce a national emergency, based on the Russian funding of the GOP, which requires the GOP to be dissolved. Trump’s declaration today is that democracy’s over, unless the current GOP chooses to reject his criminal act.

Wow Susan Collins strongly disapproves?
Trump must be quaking in his boots!

Sadly, you are spot on about Collins and Murkowski. (But they are slick at making it seem as if they are against something.) The Rs will do nothing but yip and yap like little lap dogs for a day, maybe p-p nervously a little on their master the Obese Orange Demon and Liar of Lies throughout the weekend news shows. We’ve watched this charade so many times before. Meanwhile, Trump has whipped up another batch of orange kool-aid for his frothing MAGA-ot base, the recipe courtesy of Hannity et al.

… and now Marco Rubio will go back to tweeting scripture and hiding his receding hairline.

Pelosi kicks a House resolution to terminate the declaration over to the Senate. Once that happens GOP Senators will fold and back Trump.

They will all fall in line.

They always do.

But if Pelosi does what she should do, they will have to publicly vote for this travesty. And that can be used against them…forever.

No, it’ll be a libertarian wall. Each section will be constructed by the landowner, and the nasty brown people will be kept out by outrageously high tolls to cross the wall.

“Someone’s gotta go back and get a shitload of dimes!”

"…but no crisis justifies violating the Constitution,” Rubio wrote.

If Rubio believes Trump is even considering violating the Constitution, the next question to Rubio should be “why don’t you support impeaching the President?”. The President isn’t supposed to sometimes respect and sometimes violate the Constitution, it’s an all or nothing job requirement to uphold the Constitution, at all times.

No Rubio…we don’t have a ‘crisis’ at our Southern Border. It’s better than it’s EVER been and if you morons would show one ounce of integrity it could be even better…we WILL hold you liars accountable if you come out and ‘criticize’ and then vote ‘Hey OK man’ for this lame ‘emergency’.

Grassley - let the courts decide? Have you no concern at all for the power of your role in government? The house is on fire and you’re not going to do anything until it burns to the ground, then read the report? They’re all traitors to their oaths. But we knew that.

Voters don’t want it either

And Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told Politico he wished Trump “wouldn’t have done it.”

Oooh that’s a pretty hot take there Senator! Way to stick your neck out. The rest of the statement is garbled nonsense. Way to phone it in.

Collins said she was “disappointed” by the decision …

… but will support whatever actions or agendas the pResident might pursue. Again.

Rubio, feigning concern, ripped off his shirt and yelled “Turn on the bubble machine!”

Lol, Rand Paul had no problem signing on to the bloated Tax gift to the wealthy that was ramrodded through the Senate giving Donnie his big “win”…why does this represent something unfamiliar to him?

In a statement on Thursday, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) expressed concern about the precedent Trump’s declaration might set.

Senator Folds-Like-Origami said what now?

Chuck was mostly just butthurt because Mitch so rudely interrupted his masterful speech about whoknows and whocares on the Senate floor.

It seems that I must have missed when a Revolt was defined as a couple of tweets from a couple of twits. Wake me up when the GOP actually does something to stand up to tRump
