Discussion: GOP Rep's Vision of Post-ACA World: You Wait To Treat Your Kid's Broken Arm

Then lets take away healthcare coverage for Congress so they can live in the world they want to force on everyone else.

Healthcare? More like child abuse.

Or, as Alan Grayson put it, the GOP advice for healthcare is “Die sooner.”

What a callous dolt.

Not sure that bragging about your child abuse is going to win converts (at least the sane and human ones) to drop the ACA as a good thing. Fail. Sad.

Yes, because children tolerate pain so well. Its going to be a long four years (Four because I have no faith that Dems could take over the House in two).

Proxy child abuser. Fuck off, you monster.

Junior, stop whining about that finger you lost in the lawn mower. We’ll just keep an eye on it, and if your hand turns black from gangrene, then we’ll consider the ER. Or we’ll do some bathroom surgery with a hacksaw, a blow torch and a few belts of whiskey.

He wants us to take our children to back-alley bone setters.

“It’ a shame the ER’s aren’t used for real emergencies” …

Like this guy’s mental issues —

Ah yes, just wait until morning and risk possible nerve damage to your son’s arm, or other possible complications. Child in pain? Just wait until morning to see if Tylenol is enough. Really, this is child neglect and abuse.

Congressman,

You made a choice - but that does not give you the right to deny that choice to other parents.

You want people to be responsible consumers, but you demagogue when insurance premiums (the “skin in the game” that people pay) go up - despite how the cost curve has changed post-ACA.

You want people to be sensitive to pricing, but when the ACA proposed a method of studying how prices can be responsibly managed, your party shouted from the rooftops about “death panels.”

Sorry, Congressman. You can’t have your free market cake and eat it, too.

I know the difference between getting IVIG and not. It treats my chronic autoimmune disease, and without it I’d be paralyzed. It costs over $1 million a year. And I didn’t get an autoimmune disease by being careless or making poor health choices. So this ignorant Republican can shut up now.

Typical low-watt Republican asshole. Years from now he’ll probably be murdered by the son he tortured for 12 hors.

Like people with insurance are all “screw it…give me an MRI, I’m not paying for it!”

Christ, what an asshole.

Even as a non-child owner, and someone who is somewhat grouchy around kids, I have to wonder: what if you’re child’s sick at night, you decide to wait to take them to the hospital, and they, you know, die from the illness? I guess you’ve saved money, and your insurance provider didn’t have to pay anything, so that’s cool?

Gee guys, sounds like a solid plan. Assholes.

Ha. I posted my reply, and just noticed it was the third in a row to use the word “asshole” in response to Bill Huizenga. Just seemed appropriate, I guess!

Chest pain? Probably something you ate. Sleep it off, ya pussy.

Mr Huizenga, I am sure that your compassionate, well adjusted child will remember the incident as the two of you age and you find yourself living above his garage after you retire. When you, in your old age collapse after climbing the the ladder to your loft I am sure he will feel quite justified to say “just let him lay there for a while… If he is still alive in the morning we can call around and see if we can find a cheap doctor or vet that can take a look at him.”
