First of all, if it’s a public meeting, it’s a public fucking meeting. If you’re meeting with constituents, a reporter is allowed to be there. The paper should make sure the reporter lives in Roskam’s district, just to ensure that, yes, everyone in the room is a constituent.

Second, the Aurora Beacon-News should just post someone on Roskam and follow him around. He’s a public figure – he doesn’t get to hide from the press.

If Roskam wants to avoid the press, he should resign and go live in a goddamn cabin.

Runaway …

And the cowardly Republicans run away from any sign of responsibility or even any attempt to do their jobs as the American People who voted them demand. Instead, they want to hide away somewhere where they can continue to dream of a Fourth Reich…

This kind of thing is inevitable if you’re a minority party that wants to do highly unpopular stuff and can’t make an honest argument for its policies. But you can’t do self-government this way. I guess the future of government of, by, and for the people is what we’re in the process of deciding.

NEW Executive Order- As of TODAY and for all time, ALL constituents attending Town Hall Meetings or ANY MEETING, with ANY federal officials, elected or appointed, are hereby required to sign the Trump Non-Disclosure Agreement, modified by Michael Cohen from the ORIGINAL Mother of All Non-Disclosure Agreements drafted by Roy Cohn.

Signed

Sounds like he was expecting a non-disclosure agreement from the participants.

Seriously, what possible justification could he have for excluding the press? If he thought that would make him less candid, then fine, let him be less candid. But if he’s meeting in his official capacity, the public has a right to know what he said.

Heaven forfend that the public might learn the congressman’s views!

Well, in 2018, the public can make his views irrelevant. More irrelevant.

Does the esteemed Congressman realize everyone has a cellphone with video/audio capabilities and there are sites like YouTube and Facebook that are readily available?

In other words, everyone is a member of the media these days, professional or not.

I’m thinking an updated reissue of ‘Profiles in Courage’ is needed at this point.

FYI, the Aurora Beacon News is owned by the Chicago Tribune, one of the more conservative papers in the nation, and Roskam still skeedaddled… Chickenshit Congressboy.

Here is the story…

I am flabbergasted, flabbergasted , to find out that Republicans are craven cowards that will run and hide from the hot mess that they have created.

Who could have known?

tl;dr – Fuck them. Fuck them all. Every God damned last one of them. Fuck them right out of existence.
