Discussion for article #228647
You’re a schmuck with a 40 year old bachelors in biology! What’s more, you didn’t go into science, idiot. You’re not a scientist.
But, I don’t see any peer-reviewed science that proves that there is man-made catastrophic climate change."
That’s because your head is firmly stuck up your ass, otherwise you would see the hundreds of peer reviewed studies that proves catastrophic climate change is man made. Asshole.
“You know, I believe in peer-reviewed science. But, I don’t see any peer-reviewed science that proves that there is man-made catastrophic climate change.”
Now folks, this may be a true statement. Rep. Benishek doesn’t see it, so therefore, it doesn’t exist. I wonder then, if he disbelieves other things he can’t see, like God?
No, you aren’t a scientist, you are a dumbass.
Being a general surgeon doesn’t qualify you to hold forth on climate change any more than that other dumbass neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
Well, it’s hard to see anything when one’s head is so firmly planted up their posterior they’re sitting on their own shoulders.
If I had a nickel for every MD who thinks someone died and made them an actual scientist, I would have an MD’s salary.
He doesn’t see any peer-reviewed science because he isn’t looking for it.
If 97% of scientists said eating a wild mushroom is fatal, would he still eat it since the “science is unsettled”?
I took AP physics in high school so I’m a scientist, and I say there is climate change
“I don’t see any peer-reviewed science that proves that there is man-made catastrophic climate change.”"
Then he in no way at all is a scientist. What so ever. Because he completely fails to understand the “scientific method” which is the way science has been done for hundreds of years. Science is not about “proof”. It is about hypotheses, data collection, testing, conclusions, repeatability/peer-review, new hypotheses. “Proof” is a mathematical concept. The Congressman should have been confronted point blank with this but naturally the media never wants to upset a GOP buddy.
The Congressman graduating with a biology degree and not understanding the scientific method is also a direct reflection of a very poor education. The scientific method is taught in middle school and high school, let alone in college. It is the fundamental back bone of science. No biology student should be able to graduate any college without understanding this.
I guess with Benishek’s air-tight logic, being a geologist makes one an expert in surgery.
Being a general surgeon doesn’t qualify this bozo as a scientist.
Neither does having a B.S. in Biology.
Unfortunately for him, the BS he’s spewing shows him to be a typical right-wing moron who is determined to stick with a belief that has been conclusively shown to be wrong.
That is the sort of “thinking”—to use that word very loosely----that defines modern American conservatism.
A complete rejection of facts, truth, science, and reality are the unshakable core of right-wing reactionary belief structure.
No wonder they have such a miserable time living in the real world.
In his defense, he did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express close to a library once, so if that doesn’t make him a scientist then I really don’t know what I’m talking about.
Last time I checked, there is a difference between a PhD in a scientific field and an MD. I got a PhD in Genetics and I wouldn’t dare to say or claim that I understand the science put forth by PhDs in Climatology, Earth Sciences, Oceanography and/or related fields.
How can this man call himself a scientist when he can’t read.
No scientist believes in climate change. Global climate change been proven by empirical analysis, so it’s a known fact and not a belief.
I’m a scientist, and you’re just a Kochsucking dumbfuck piece of shit.
The fact that this tool doesn’t know the difference between a surgeon and a scientist makes me wonder how many of his patients died on the table at his hands.
this idiot doesn’t NEED to believe in it, it’s happening.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
thanks.
I just checked with his people and they assured me that I was totally right and they have the peer-reviewed science to prove it. And I believe them, because they used the phrase “peer-reviewed science” twice, which is totally a science thing and not something a layman would say to mask his ignorance.
So mock him all you want, science-deniers, but you’re really just mocking science. And I should know, since I too am now a scientist.
