Discussion: GOP Rep. To Colleagues: Wolves Can Solve Your Homelessness Problems

Discussion for article #234033

How many of you have got wolves in your district?

Idiot. Fracking isn’t done where I live but I still think it should be stopped. Typical small minded Republican.

This is not humorous regardless of how the congressman tries to spin or explain it. If you are elected (and collect a paycheck) to represent people (which would include homeless people), this should cause him to lose his job.

“How many of you have got wolves in your district?”

Raise your hand if you’re a Republican member of Congress: that’s how many wolves there are.

Most predators hereabouts are in Congress and the Chamber of Commerce…

There are no homeless in prison…

Isn’t that one of the Teahadists solutions to everything? Along with guns, christianism, tax cuts for job creators and freedumb.

Oh and lethal injections.

Think of what we could do by letting some wolves loose in the Republican cloakrooms in House and Senate!

…except the white ones with money/power …

Has anyone noticed that just about anything a Republican says is followed by an explanation the intended message and the words used to convey it bear no semblance to each other?

I’m sorry, and I apologize beforehand for such a remark, but the sooner his generation is gone, the better off we will all be.

As if there isn’t an entire generation behind them that isn’t chock full of xenophobes, homophobes, misogynists, anti-semites, racists, anti-intellectuals, Christianists, etc. Nah, we’ll be comntending with the likes of Don Young for eternity.

Wow! and Jonathan Swift thought that “A Modest Proposal” was satire!

Deceptive headline–he was saying that wolves are dangerous and should be killed, not that they should be deployed to kill the homeless–but he’s still an idjit.

It’s not generational - it’s gerontological. Unfortunately, there are some folks that turn into idiots as they age. This doesn’t happen to be Don Young’s problem however, as he was an idiot even as a youth.

There’s no Voter Fraud in most districts. Doesn’t prevent Republicans from making Voter ID laws.

Oh, they’d be just fine. Professional courtesy!

I sure hope the DNC is keeping track–and copies of videos and audio–of the scummy, offensive, hate-filled things these “humans” utter – it’s what great campaign ads can include, along with something reasonable, compassionate and helpful being offered by the Democrats.

Wolves will solve your district’s homeless problems.

Verbal rape is at epidemic levels.

Prisons are factories where gays are made.

Foreign corporations should be able to claim eminent domain on U.S. citizens’ private property!

Drastically lower your already low taxes on the very wealthy and just watch how prosperous the state becomes – see Kansas for a great example

“We will not give in to the tyranny of the United States Supreme Court.” – see Alabama, multiple examples

“Well, gee, no, I do not know if the President of the United States is not a Muslim – it just hasn’t been made clear to me.” – Quote from nearly every single Republican in the United States, when asked their thoughts on Mr. Obama’s faith.

Glancing at the membership of the committee indicates that at least 10 of its members might have gray wolves in their districts.
The political issue, as I understand it, is that ranchers don’t want the wolves preying on their livestock. The argument on the other side is that many of these ranchers pay artificially low rents to operate on public land. The (some say obscenely) low rents are meant to compensate for that predation. Enviros believe it’s a public good to protect biodiversity through the Endangered Species Act.
Just thought I’d check Young’s claim and add a little context.
