âHe said that he has seen some use the issue for âpolitical leverageâ over the past few days, and that lawmakers are reacting to concerns from constituents.â
Um, he used his vote switch to get a seat at the table for future discussionsâŚIâm pretty sure thatâs âpolitical leverageâ is it not?
He demanded that he have âseat at the table on all future discussions on this issue,â and once an agreement was met, Russell switched his vote.
Whatâs there to discuss if the bill becomes law, which is what your vote signified a desire for, in the affirmative?
Maybe later he will say he was just following orders.
> â⌠lawmakers are reacting to concerns from constituents.â
To whatever extent thatâs true, fine. But the problem is that way too many lawmakers are doing their best to encourage concerns ⌠and fears, and worse, by taking advantage of constituentsâ unfamiliarity with the refugee process instead of educating them.
Right wingers are cockroaches, they should be exterminated as such in the voting booth.
Shouldnât that be that they react to a concern expressed by a majority of their constituents???
Party before manhoodâŚ
âP.S. Donât believe anything I say ⌠I certainly donât.â

It doesnât matter what you say if it is not backed by your action â

Typical Republican. . . no integrity.
Doesnât 2/3 of 435 = 290, not 289? Even with one vacant seat (thanks Boehner!) 2/3 of 434 is 289.333 so does that third of a rep just come with the 289 others?
Americans are scared? Thatâs bullshit. Iâm not. No one I know is scared. You are telling us to be scared because our country is âweakâ, ânot greatâ, and we have a âfecklessâ President. Your anti-American sentiments are repulsive.
How did Pastor Bob respond when you told him that stuff wasnât true?
If he switched that easily, then his convictions arenât all that. Gelatinous orbs have more commitment.
Doesnât matter now
He might as get ready for a primary challenge.
Doesnât matter.
He sold his vote cheap.
The house leadership doesnât owe him.
Ask that question again December 11th
Ah, for one brief shining moment, a Conservative stood by his stated principles ⌠then capitulated to the fear and demagoguery of the actual principles of his fellow Conservatives and reversed himself.
Typical Republican: big talk, no walk.
Thank you.
"Americans are scared. Thatâs why you saw such an overwhelming vote â a veto-proof vote â on the floor that transcended parties, because the constituents are telling their representatives, âYou need to put a stop to this.â "
Oh, THATâS why we saw a veto-proof vote! Here I thought we saw a veto-proof vote because you folded on your principles and made it one. And when you have your âseat at the table,â what good will that do, besides your self-aggrandizement? Youâve already shown that youâll sell out, the rest is just haggling.
