As I recall, Rahm told PBO in no uncertain terms not to fight for ACA. Nancy Pelosi made it happen.

If President Obama had taken ACA on the road and promoted it in the way only he was capable of, the Rs might not have been able to try and repeal as many times as they did because the public would have embraced it more readily from the start. This is the only criticism I’ve ever voiced of the president because it hurt all of us.
Nancy is my representative, and she was planning on retiring if Hillary won. She cannot for the foreseeable future.

At least he’s honest about a straight repeal. What’s really happening is that the law isn’t as bad as they made it out to be so they can’t get away with a straight repeal, and dammit, that’s Obama’s fault for making a law so complex and that many people actually liked.
