Discussion: GOP Rep. Says Trump's Gone 'Too Far' To Vote For Him Now

Only because Trump’s poll numbers are down. Should have disavowed last year to show any integrity.

Since this guy and some of the others are in the House of Reprehensibles, as each of them declaims DT as their party’s nominee, I would like to know if he or she is up for re-election in this cycle or if, through gerrymandering, his or her seat is safely Republican.

I applaud the acton of declaiming if there is some skin in the game, but if these folks don’t have a contested, difficult election to deal with, their declaiming doesn’t have much guts behind it.

The trickle has begun of ®s trying to save their seats.

With all of these Repubs jumping off, who will be left to bail the water?

Looking at RCP’s favorability roundups since 7/25, Clinton is at -11 but Trump is at a whopping -22.8.

Their entire RCP roundup dating back to 7/14 still has Clinton at -13.3 and Trump at -22.6.

The GOP Elephant mascot is dead.

It has been replaced by the lemming.

Will Trump attack these Republicans by name, or as a group?
I’m guessing he’ll individually explain why each of them is a loser, at least until there are double digits in the House.

Trump will have the Vito & Guido PAC pay a visit to Mr. Dent.

These people including Dent claim they can’t vote for Trump, but won’t vote for Clinton. This is very disingenuous. Trump lies hourly/daily and has been for over a year of campaigning. They say Hillary lied about her emails ( it’s complicated at best) and that they can’t vote for her. She apologized for the server set-up and he never apologizes for anything. There is no equivalency here, folks.

I ask you seriously, would it ever occur to ANYONE on their own to say that using a private e-mail server was disqualifying for the presidency?

cause i can see him telling his supporters not to vote for them in nov

I fell asleep for 6 months myself once. It gets better.

Hanna is retiring, so he faces no election this fall. Dent is in a pretty safe red district and is running against a guy he beat by 13 points in 2012 (He ran unopposed in 2014), so probably not worried about losing to a Dem. Kinzinger is running unopposed and his district is probably even redder than Dent’s.

So none of this people is particularly worried about the General election. Which, I would argue, actually makes their statements more interesting. It makes more sense to put distance between yourself and Trump if you are worried about his impact on your General election results. But if you aren’t…its pretty much just saying “I can’t stand the guy”

@imkmu3 It doesn’t appear that way. None of the three has much to worry about this fall…only Dent is even facing an opponent.

Euphemism, right?

All House members are up for re-election every two years.

Well, the incident with non-endorsement of Ryan and McCain is a passive-aggressive move in that direction.

So, I’d say, it’s already starting.
