That or a hemorrhoid. We need a massive airdrop of Preparation H on the GOP congressweaselsā¦
Sorry, to bust the (very lonely) reasonable Republicanās analogy, but that bill is the opposite of a kidney stone: Republicans wonāt know what real pain is until after they pass it. Unfortunately, the rest of us will, too.
OMIGOD!!! There is a House member DOING HIS JOB??? Wow!
This looks like Mick Mulvaney, the lying weasel.
Say it louder, Congressman.
If vehement language offends you, how about āNo no, never never, uh uh uh.ā
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) on Wednesday compared the revised Republican bill to repeal and place Obamacare, which Massie has said he will vote against, to a kidney stone.
No commentāitās too easy to spin naughtily jocose similes off that. Not only do the jokes write themselves, theyāre so obvious I think they might as well read themselves too.
Isnāt āLike a Kidney Stoneā a Bob Dylan song?
[ducks as the rotten tomatoes fly]
Sounds like a pre-existing condition to meā¦
This has nothing to do with reason and everything to do with pure political calculations.
Conservatives elected from these particularly poor states understand one thing very clearly: Their constituents may not know who got them health insurance, but they sure as hell will know who took it away.
This is why folks like Tom Cotton and Tom Massie remain opposed.
I hate to admit it, knowing this young man carried Ted Cruzās luggage for a year, but heās holding to what has to be a tough, Iāll say it, stance with fortitude.
He actually had a staffer call me last Friday to say heās a āNoāā¦thatās a first.
I have passed kidney stones.
Aināt nuthinā like 'em I tells ya.
The sharp back ache
The sensations
Aaand then the last part (iāll leave that to your imagination)
Holy cats! ā¦I sent an email to my rep in January about a trump EO issued just after the inauguration. She replied with a boiler plate response that barely centered on the issue of my email. In essence she said nothing. But I got the reply emailā¦ on April 30th. I suppose Iām lucky to even get that.
Thereās a less voluntary exit via the same route for bigguns as I discovered this past Februaryā¦psychologically worst part, the home stent removal.
Lots of GOP stunts but few stentsā¦
I enjoyed the stafferās callā¦Iād thought the previous day after another Massie call that I should ask the kidās name as Iād called often enoughā¦In the Friday call he mentioned it was he last day before returning to KY and more schooling so I was able to ask his name, thank him for politely listening over the past many months and relaying and to wish him luck. Reminded me of the old days in DC when folks were polite, treated one another fairly equally, could discuss and even, horror of horrors, joke about politics.
Massie is my rep here in KY. Iāve never met him. I follow him on Facebook and Twitter and have asked him many times when he plans to be home and when he plans to hold an open meeting or town hall. I have NEVER gotten a response to that.
I have asked him about his ideas on health insurance - Iām a small business owner and self-employed. I pay $920/month for health insurance for me and my husband, plus an additional $5,000 per year out of pocket each if we have health issues. He doesnāt want to answer me.
What he DOES seem to want to do is think up so-called ācleverā comments and figure out how to get more time on tv. Heās worthless as far as representing me or anyone else in his district that doesnāt agree with everything he believes.
Ah yes, all the pain of childbirth without the lifelong commitment. I still would volunteer for another one if it would save and strengthen Oācare.
Itās hard, ugly, and painful.
And not covered, by the way if this bill does pass.
he and his aptly-designated āKYā senate cohort clearly go to the same hair dresser
Thatās about the same ācost to be your own bossā I experienced in SC when I was self employed. Insurance was costly even with a huge deductible. When I retired, I spent one year on ACA before I got on Medicare. And it isnāt āfreeā like some people think - you have to have a supplemental policy plus a drug plan - but it is wonderful in comparison to the āfree marketā.
