Discussion: GOP Rep. Says He'll Vote For Clinton: Trump Is A 'National Embarrassment'

Well of course ā€“ heā€™s not running for re-election.

If he were, heā€™d be a disingenuous lying jackoff like the rest of the GOPers in Clowngress and refuse to answer whether he was voting for Trump, but rather would say heā€™s ā€œsupporting The Nomineeā€ ā€“ as if thatā€™s something different.

Not running for reelectionā€¦still, good to see some GOP congressman not dodge and obfuscate and twist&turn in the wind to avoid directly condemning Trumpā€¦unlike the craven and cowardly Republican leadership.

You are WRONG, Sir.
Donnie Drumpf is an international, nay galactic, embarrassment.

Still a chicken.

Indeed, his tiny balls only express themselves because he will put nothing on the line by voting Clinton.

So, we now have exactly 1 R member of congress who puts the country over party.

Thatā€™s the first thing I noticed as well. The danger of tethering yourself to your psychotic nomā€¦when he plunges straight down into the depths of the crushing, inky, freezing abyss, you will inevitably follow.

So what if heā€™s not running for re-election?
I donā€™t see how that makes his point any weaker.
I do wonder if there will be followers.

When someone is doing the right thing, that is not the time to shit on them.

The fact that he is not running for re-election doesnā€™t make him a chicken even if it makes it easier for him to vote his conscience. At least he is explicitly endorsing Hillary. In general, when a Republican finally comes around to our side I donā€™t see the point in insulting him. Letā€™s encourage more of them to do it.

You know what, I donā€™t care that he is not running. He is the first Republican Congress person running or not who has come out and said plainly and clearly that their nominee is a not only an embarrassment, but a danger. Hopefully he will start a trend.

Yesterday, Trump came out in support for Paul Nehlen, Paul Ryanā€™s primary opponent.

How long before Ryan comes out full fledged against Trump? Not before the primary. But if Trump is down by double digits in October, it will be as if a damn bursts.

Eric Trump gives bizarre interview to CBS this morning, still calls Khans ā€œviciousā€.

Even if heā€™s not running, you can bet heā€™s going to take a variety of different kinds of heat and he knows it. Iā€™m rarely accused of insufficient cynicism, but I think itā€™s possible the guy simply said ā€œenough.ā€ He deserves some credit for bucking his own party and its base.

If Trump looks like a disaster in the runup, and the folks from home are calling in over some outrage du jour saying Trumpā€™s a disgrace, lots of pols will jump ship, from bottom to top. Theyā€™re not quite there yet but this Khan thing is really straining the seams.

We want to encourage others to step forward. Theyā€™ll get enough condemnation from their own ā€“ we do not have to pile on. Use the opportunity to build bridges.

It seems to me sometimes that people donā€™t understand that a Republican who comes out against Trump is still a Republican. He will probably disagree with us on a vast range of issues. This is what makes the condemnation all the more significant.

Now if Barbera follows suit, weā€™ll be able to make up Huckleberry Hound for Hillary stickers!
