Mexico outlawed Slavery in 1829 and offered full citizenship to all freed slaves regardless of race (including in what was to become Arizona Territory in 1863, and in 1912, the State of Arizona.)
The White Christian Slave Qwners in the Mexican State of Tejas were so incensed by this that in 1836 they went to war with Mexico to become the independent SLAVE-OWNING Republic of Texas.
Texas then quickly destroyed it’s own economy so badly that in 1843 they petitioned to become a member of the United States. In 1845 they officially joined the Union under the condition they could KEEP THEIR SLAVES, and then in 1861 seceded to join the Confederacy, all to KEEP THEIR SLAVES.
