Discussion: GOP Rep. Laments: 'I Don't Know What To Believe Anymore' On Russia Stories

Or if I may - “if you don’t like the news, make some UP of your own.” hahahahaha

I sympathize. I really do. Hard to know what to believe. It’s a pity Congress has no means to investigate. Oh. Yeah. Nice try. You don’t know because you don’t want to know.

Another Republican nitwit. It’s perfectly clear what to believe.

By “pick and choose” you must mean treating truth as something determined by personal preference: Pick one item from Column A, and any side dish, plus soup or salad.

But it really is a good idea to figure out which facts are true. And which otherwise.

My point is that when one approaches facts as mutable, the truth is so slippery it doesn’t exist.

Either one accepts facts as facts and then can determine what is true or one chooses which facts one likes - and that is what Fox and the Ratwing do - and which ones like climate change you don’t like and so choose not to believe, then you have no basis for determining what is true.

Exactly. Here’s a rule of thumb: if an outlet makes a mistake and issues a correction, they are much more credible than one that doesn’t issue corrections.
You can also use this to measure the credibility of Congresspersons: If someone admits something and apologizes, he or she is much more trustworthy than someone who ignores things or pretends that, against all evidence, it didn’t happen.

Sorry for you keninmn, Lewis is a real dimwit. I’m in Paulsen MN03 district; who acts like he’s a moderate but votes like Michele Bachman and always flies under the radar. At least you have a better chance for a representative than me. :frowning:

Laments will be lamenting. With whats down the road this is just the tip of his existential iceberg.

Exactly. Thanks.

Minor edit: They issue corrections and don’t then instantly pivot to “ooh look at the car chase” to distract their viewers … whom they obviously view with great contempt.

It’s pretty simple actually. Just take what fox so-called news says and believe the opposite.
It’s so simple even a republican could do it.

If you follow the story with the understanding that Trump is a money launderer who is compromised by the Russians and colluded with those Russians to win the US Presidency, it’s amazing how all these stories fall right in line. It’s when you try to deny these facts that the story gets very murky and unclear.
