Discussion: GOP Rep. Labrador Files To Run For Idaho Governor

Lots of luck with that, Mr. “No one dies because they lack health care” Labrador!!

The one good thing that has come out of the GOP “total triumph” is how it’s motivated people all over the world to elect liberal, secular leaders. (Even Theresa May would be almost a Democrat over here).

You’re running for Governor and you think nobody dies from lack of health care?

I didn’t think the Dems had a big shot at winning Idaho before, but things are looking up. Thank you.

“Idaho needs a strong leader who will make government fair for everyone.”

Unless you have a pre-existing condition…

I hope Idahoans have a sense of ironic humor and can laugh at the timing

Well, at the very least it forces the GOP to throw a little money into two races that would otherwise be freebies.

Seeing diminishing chances of retaining his seat in Congress, Labrador opts to run for Governor of Idaho. Sounds like a snap decision to me. But then I’m not from Idaho.

Labrador figures that being a GOP Representative is not going to be all that much fun in the next few years, might as well take the next step.

Labrador later said in a statement that “I was trying to explain that all hospitals are required by law to treat patients in need of emergency care regardless of their ability to pay and that the Republican plan does not change that.”

Yeah, this guy is a major league sh*thead on the order of Carnival Cruz.

Note what he says: patients in need of emergency care means a hospital CAN and WILL turn you away if you are deemed to be suffering because of something that was not an emergency. SO, if you have no health insurance, you’re diabetic and you’re suffering from complications of untreated diabetes, no hospital assistance for you.

Yeah, when Dems retake the House “oversight” and “ethics” will actually mean something again.

Too bad the crazy militia woman Helen Chenoweth R-ID is not around to run against him.

I’m sure this will go swimmingly (as it were). After all, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?

OF COURSE, he does…what a little twerpy coward. He screws people over and yes, that includes the people of Idaho as well as around the COUNTRY and then files to be GOVERNOR. God the hubris is amazing.

Oh how conceded can one cone head be? He stands before his constituents and denies there is no connection between death and having health insurance! And now he wants to become governor…how stupid are Iowans? Oops…I believe someone else has already asked that question!

I’m not super familiar with Idaho politics, but I can’t help but think that his clueless and heartless health care gaffe could actually be a positive in the eyes of kooky krazy conservatives out there. “Keep yer dam gubbmint hands offa my medicare” and all that.

Labrador is a very prominent Republican congressman. Maybe he always planned to run for governor, or maybe the idea became appealing only recently. Who knows!? What I want to know is what’s the tipping point? By that I mean what’s the point at which we can confidently agree that the GOP is truly running scared ahead of 2018? Is there a magic number of retirements? Or are there particular retirements we should be looking to?

Boy if his opponent ever gets him saying anything damning on tape I don’t like his chances…

What could possibly go wrong for Representative “Nobody Dies From Not Having Health Care?”

If nobody dies from a lack of access to health care, how come every single Republican I ever met extolls the AHCA cause it gives people more access to health care?

That’s a whole separate issue.
