Bathroom Brucie canât deal with the fact, his district is just not into him anymore. RCV was voted in twice, reaffirmed in court. A fast track run off. Donât know what his motivation is for keeping this going. Lastly, he never worked this hard while in office. Go away brucie.
Of course, he conveniently ignores the basic point of ranked-choice voting, that people feel free to vote for a third-party candidate knowing that their vote will accrue to their second choice if that person falls short.
So he would likely not have gotten the most votes in the first place if ranked-choice hadnât existed, as most people donât âwasteâ their vote, but go with the major candidate they find themselves more aligned with.
I think this whole foofaraw should convince Maine voters that the fact that ranked-choice voting âfilteredâ this whiner out makes it a winning choice for the state.
A rich Republican fool and his money should be parted. Appeal your ass off and look like your ass.
âThere is nothing more fundamental than our one-person, one vote constitutional right,â he added.â
Yep, we agree. They voted using a lawful system and you lost. It wasnât a mystery how the system worked. Just because you were too stupid to understand it and campaign appropriately doesnât mean it wasnât a lawful election.
GO HOME!
Canât imagine the First Circuit is going to look too kindly on this exercise. Theyâre a pretty staid bunch. Judge Walker, despite being friendly with Lepage and picked by Trump, is at bottom a smart and reasonable lawyer and judge. His opinion was well-reasoned and emphatic. I guess itâs fine, though, if the GOP wants to set more money on fire in this effort.
Hey Bruce. You lost. Deal with it.
Well, I would too if I wasnât anyoneâs first choice.
Funny how the reaction of republican always seems to be âseat me anywayâ.
The REPUGS will pizz and bitch until such time they figure out how to cheat with RCV, then it will become the next comingâŚ
âThere is nothing more fundamental than our one-person, one vote constitutional right,â
In the ranked choice system people voted for four candidates for the Congressional seat, a clear violation of one-man one-vote.
Critics say the system is confusing.
The GOP prefers a more straight forward system where there is only one candidate on the ballot.
@castor_troy Our son teaches that point in his poli sci course, that the best way to break the R-D two party hold on the electoral system is to give voters the opportunity to vote third party without the risk of being disenfranchised.
I will post this again as it helps explain the alternative system. And yes, this bothers those in power as it forces the two party system to adapt to the will of the voters. Well shit. No wonder they donât like it!
I think that Terry Pratchet is apposite here for what the republicans want:
âAnkh-Morpork had dallied with many forms of
government and had ended up with that form of democracy known as One
Man, One Vote. The Patrician was the Man; he had the Vote.â
â likes for Terry Pratchett and Disc World.
