Discussion for article #222017
I suppose Bill Maher can remove one congressman from “flip a district”.
So a single event is all he needed? It somehow comes across as a change of “convenience”… There is more to this… I’d like to know the “behind the scene” repercussions…
Looks like someone read his poll numbers.
Typical GOP : something is a liberal hoax; a socialist nightmare; destroying America. Until something affects them. Only then is it is a real problem that needs addressing.
I suspect the “event” that changed his position was some internal polling of his district which found that his prior position was a loser there.
Same with gay marriage, same with abortion, same with just about everything. One of the hallmarks of modern conservativism is the inability to see any issue from anything other than one’s own point of view.
there’s no oxygen left in the room in Washington for another big debate
Because you and your GOP colleagues have been wasting all the oxygen on ridiculous political stunts like shutting down the government and voting to repeal Obamacare 50+ times.
Maybe, but given the urgency of making changes to environmental policy, that is of secondary importance to me, as long as he puts his vote where is mouth is.
And because Benghaaaaaazzzziziziziiiiiiiiiii!!!
Yeah, look at his district. Sandy’s as good a reason as any to change his view. So now, he’s a RINO in good standing.
So he admits it exists, but simultaneously admits that our politics are too small to respond to the danger… What?!
Or perhaps the polling told him it wasn’t nice to threaten to throw a reporter off the Capitol balcony.
Maybe he’s off his steroids?
BS. he votes for boehner for speaker. the house GOP prevents any action on climate change. steroid boy here is responsible.
Just not enough room on Grimm’s mantle for all the Profile in Courage awards he’s due.
Amazing what a hurricane and some internal polling can do, isn’t it?
He’s about to be indicted by the Feds… this is called corralling up some sympathy and a few positives on the left. It is cynical beyond belief.
The comments appear to be centered on a different climate than his words suggest. I think its the political climate in that swing district ( given the voters now have a Fed criminal case to consider ) and he Grimm now believes in and he needs whenever he can get.
Right, Grimm. You know your party is about to abandon you anyway when you get indicted. This is just your way to quit before you are fired.
