“Access to healthcare” is a weasel term for “go out and buy it yourself, you panhandling deadbeat” – which does nothing to change the quality of or ability to obtain healthcare in this country.
We are a goddamned First World nation. We should not in this day and age still have people wondering if they can see a doctor before they come down with terminal illness, or still have people afraid to go see a doctor because they’re worried of being financially ruined.
It reminds me of the scene from ‘Brubaker’ where the injured prisoner is moaning ‘I can’t afford anymore’ when being told the doctor is on his way.
It’s revolting, sickening, and absolutely uncivilized.

It would seem our population at large has become greedier, less compassionate, less educated in the social sciences, less understanding and appreciative of anything not within their own sphere.
