Discussion: GOP Rep. Curbelo, Dem Rep. Moulton Introduce Effort To Ban Bump Stocks

Not good enough. Make it a fucking crime to own or possess one and give people 1 fucking month to turn them in at the local police station. Otherwise, STOP WASTING MY FUCKING TIME.

Hey, folks!

Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA) has resigned effective October 21.

There are, truly, too many weapons grandfathered to kill your great-grandchildren; the time is long since past to demand, unapologetically, sanity and justice.

But why? Last I’d heard, making certain weapons illegal was pointless since criminals wouldn’t obey the law.

Fucking hypocrites.

Another great man brought down - all because some slut wouldn’t keep her legs shut!

(have they started framing it that way, yet?)

And the pregnancy was a false scare. So it was all for naught on his part.

The NRA may be (allegedly) on board - but it looks like Bannon is starting a shock and awe campaign:

Yep. I live in one of those districts and we are bound and determined to flip it.

I mentioned Curbelo, because while his heart being in the right place is an obvious question, folks should remember that unless he says he’s leaving, dude is trying his damndest to be seen as a different kind of modern day Republican.

Whether folks fall for his slickness, will be answered in 2018.

I saw Rep. Moulton on TV last night. He’s very articulate, educated and still young to have many good years ahead of him in the House. He spent 4 tours in Iraq. He was elected for the first time in 2014. I see him as one of the Democrats new shining stars. What can I say, I like him.

This angle is easy for them, because its either go with a bump stock ban or lie about the Swiss n the Finns have gun control laws.

They’re not - their statement was to call for ATF to re-review the law. Presumably the ATF got it right the first time (seems straightforward determination) when interpreting the law so NRA knows that nothing will come of this. All puffery meant to look like something of substance.

The fact that repugs and NRA thugs capitulate on bump stocks so easily means it means nothing to them.

There was this one sentence, though.
“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations.”

Not exactly the usual line.
