Well, they say that even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
So, heās lost the Tea Party and the Democrats; who exactly IS going to vote for this POS bill?
Leadership knows their whip count. Maybe they are willing to just cut bait and accept losing the vote on Thursday to stop the bleeding, but Iāll believe it when I see it. If I had to bet, Iād bet some bill passed out of the House, even if they are just dumping the mess on their Senate colleagues to do their dirty work and kill it.
And really detestable for the deplorables. Ironic, huh?
AmashTranslate gives that as While Iāve been in Congress, I canāt recall a more universally detested leader than Ryan. Have Seat, Will Grovel.
" ⦠he advocated for a conditional state-by-state repeal of Obamacare"
Buck passing?
Is there a Weasel Award?
I guess Amash missed the news about North Carolinaās HB2.
They could do that but it wonāt minimize the blowback theyāre already experiencing. Maybe they could hold a bunch of town halls to test public sentiment.
Oh, @tiowally, you are such a card!
Wait while I wipe the tears from my eyes and pick myself up off the floor, where I fell while consumed with laughter.
I thoroughly detest Amash, but in this case, he is absolutely right.
GOP Rep. Canāt Recall Any Bill āMore Universally Detestedā Than AHCA
Ya think?
It is hated by the right.
It is hated by the left.
It is hated by the center.
It only finds support from Speaker Ryan and Secretary Price and Ryan is wavering. I think this one is DOA in the Senate. Voting for it in the house is stupid politics. The vote invites a challenge from both the left and right.
The blowback ship sailed a couple weeks ago. Now itās just about stopping the bleeding, win, lose or draw.
Warns a dude first elected in a teaparty tidal wave. Ironic that the strategy that led to his election (demonize and reject ACA) then used for 6 more years relentlessly - leads to a āuniversally detestedā bill facing a Resistance tidal wave in 2018 that some of his peers are trying to pretend doesnāt exist.
Not surprising given this might very well be the most universally detested Session of Congress since the Big Bang and cosmic nucleosynthesis was all the rageā¦
The holy grail is still the āRepealā of Obamaās signature accomplishment. Not going to be complete until we erase our first black president off the history books. Only then will we be victorious.
The hell with a bunch of loudmouth so-called constituents who only want to get coverage. They do not understand the greater good.
Amash and the rest of the Teahadis right now are a sort of evil-mirror image of the progressives who were against the ACA because it didnāt go far enough. Except these people are against the repeal because it doesnāt send enough people to early death. And they have seats in congress.
TARP was detested by a lot of people in both parties, but there was a true emergency-the global financial system was literally days away from collapsing. And there were powerful interests behind it. Here there is no emergency and many powerful interests-doctors hospitals, the AARP-are strongly against it and even the insurance companies are lukewarm.
Thank you Paul Ryan. I guess letting your āconstituentsā dying and begging for Health Care is now on the table for discussion. Maybe not. Eat Sh!t speaker! There is a surge of voters coming and you are going to be swept away in the 2018 Tsunami. Trust me.
Just a reminder that this is one big, self-inflicted wound courtesy of todayās GOP. If they had been serious about getting rid of the ACA they would have drafted legislation years ago. They werenāt serious because they didnāt think they would be in a position to repeal it. Trump swept them over the top and now they find themselves spinning their wheels because that is the only thing they seem to know how to do.
