It’s one thing to vote against an aging chickenhawk who was banned from the Gladsen Shopping Mall thirty years ago. But voting against a lifetime SCOTUS appointment for a stumbling drunk, rapist who was the moving force behind the Impeachment of Bill Clinton over adultery, well that is just a bridge too far for the good people of Alabamy.

Did you expect Republicans wouldn’t challenge Jones. This is to be expected. It is a seat Jones could lose. It all depends on Trump. I hope there aren’t too many Democrats demanding total purity from Jones.
Which, as far as I can see, is the best thing he has going for him.
Some well-known representatives* of Alabama values:

*Yes, I know this doesn’t apply to everyone in Alabama. After all, Jones did win the special election. But almost certainly because of his opponent’s character, and it was still a near-run thing. Jones is definitely swimming against the current.
So Rep. Byrne have you ever made unwanted advances on a girl or woman? Is it OK to do so? If it’s not then why do you support the Groper in Chief?
Jeff Sessions right about now has spent enough time with the family, he’ll run and he’ll win.
Byrne has always steered carefully clear of the RWNJ stuff in the past. Sad - though unsurprising- to see him harrumphing about Standing With President Trump.
Fun little fact from the exit polling splits in Doug Jones’ election to the senate:
Urban, rural, race, income, education, there was one outlier that went 57%-43% for Jones. Wanna guess what it was? “Are there one or more children in your household.”
