Yes, Democrats can be sexist. That isn’t what the War on Women is about, though. The War on Women is about denying women rights and equality. Republicans have been desperate to shift the War on Women onto the Democrats, but they have very little in the way of actual argument, and if Carville had his game on, he would has said as much.
Lol. Criticism of one individual is not a war on women. The Republican war on women consists of national policies that discriminate against all women in multiple ways.
Even on that one, Edwards got bum press. It was $400 - the amount the barber estimated he’d lose in an afternoon devoted to the security requirements for a major presidential candidate.
Yeah, but all they’ve got is projection. Workable, consistent, fair-minded solutions for what’s wrong with this country? Ehhhh, not so much.
Yeah, but this wasn’t about telling the truth. This was about Navarro trying to make her base – particularly the female members of the base – feel okay about voting for people who consistently work against their constituents’ best interests.
Hey, you gotta give up a lot when you sell your soul in exchange for a paycheck.
You’ll get no disagreement from me on that point.
I assure you, none of them believe this crap.
They just hope their base keeps believing it.
Playing to the GOP base.
I once walked away from a good paying job for a point of principle. My boss tried to enlist me in a cover up that he was cheating on his wife with a coworker. He also was trying to pay that coworker substantially more than me and attempting to cut my hours by saying he didn’t have the money for me to have a full time position. I told my boss that he had no personal honor as a man and that I was resigning. I went on to a new job after being unemployed for 6 months. That former boss went on to become a distinguished professor of biochemistry … and married that coworker.
I’m happy with my decision. I know that my former boss is not nearly as inwardly happy as I am. Every time I run into him I see his regret in his face. These days I’m happily retired. He still has to work to afford alimony and his wife’s expensive tastes.
I think the likelihood of the republicans taking the senate is open to question with the goings on in Kansas. Kansas being critical to the plans of the republicans. Just ask Kris Kobach.
I meant it was stupid for them to use such a transparent ploy which would only convince someone who would never vote for a Dem.
So double stupid?
Good point. I’d forgotten that. Of course, while Edwards was being criticized for his supposed vanity, Wasserman-Schultz wasn’t being criticized for being an alleged clothes’ horse. Rather, the anonymous claims were that she was using Dem money for personal purposes, which has nothing to do with sexism. I don’t think Navarro is bright enough to understand the distinction; she’s the ultimate talk-first-think-never Republican. Then again, us criticizing her here makes us all sexists. Doesn’t it?
Excellent analogy with the Edwards haircut. Criticizing inefficient use of party funds is what people should always do. I see the GOP is now running on fumes. This is all they have? The party of Lincoln is now the party of petty and stupid.
What gets me is how incredibly far “the party of Lincoln” has strayed from what they were when Lincoln was around. In the late 1850’s and trough the 1860 they were the party that gave us the 13th amendment (adopted 12/6/1865) “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” Lincoln also wrote the Emancipation proclimation and it was an executive action. You know, the very sort of thing the republicans get in a twist over when Obama comes up with one. In that time the republicans were the progressives and the democrats were the conservatives.
YAWN… Put down the glue stick. The fumes are killing the final “brain” cells left.
Tin Foil on sale this week. Run before Obama oversteps his authority.
I might be wrong (and probably am) but wasn’t that a faux conservative post?
Anyone who would believe that kind of nonsense would believe the crap Navarro puked out today.
I’m amazed as to how far the party of Lincoln has regressed since the days of George Herbert Walker Bush. The nutjobs were given power beginning with the moral majority and now the GOP is nothing but the sludge at the bottom of a barrel of oil. They are morally bankrupt and irrelevant.
Problem is they keep getting reelected.
DWS is completely ineffective bordering on incompetent. I stopped taking her seriously the moment she refused to endorse a fellow Democrat as a courtesy to her ‘republican friend’.
She doesn’t have what it takes to lead; in her current position she weakens the party as a whole at a time we can Ill afford it.
