I think I agree with you. Some anti-Trump Republicans might hope this could be the way to swiftly cut off his head.
This is a very minor āeffortā whose main significance is the relationship getting cozier and cozier between neocons and Hillary Clinton and her people. Itās a small story and Josh is pushing the āPutin-Trumpā angle hard and basically ignoring the growing Clinton-neocon alliance angle.

Iām fine with that as long as the 1st thing that they do is subpoena Trumpās tax returns for the past 10 years, have a forensic audit of them performed, and make the Trump family testify under oath.

Exactly correct. Nothing more than a opportunity for a bunch of failing candidates to get on TeeVee and claim that āthere are many troubling questions, but there is no doubt weāll get to the facts and let the chips fall where they may.ā Behind closed doors itās nothing but the feckless and desperate searching for anything with which to tar Clinton.
