“James, who is black, said implying that he supports racism is an “indication of how low people are willing to go” to get Stabenow re-elected to a fourth term.”

Running as a Republican = supporting racism.

But it’s so haaaaard to find a picture of a school hallway without a swastika.

Or should we go with the “I’m not a racist, I only pander to them” excuse.

The swastika isn’t that hard to see, if you’re looking for it, but if you’re not, and you’re just looking past the cork board, maybe. But the stock footage company and the video consultants and the campaign people all missed it. Which happens! He didn’t weasel on it, so good for him. Maybe. God knows in my own experience you see some incredibly sloppy stuff happen that you know wasn’t deliberate. But if we see more supposedly inadvertent swastikas, then I think we have to revisit this.

Weirdest story of the day?

So far.

The fact that a swastika is common enough to be inadvertently seen anywhere is the real problem. if we aren’t addressing that then I fear for our future.

Error? More like appealing to the base.

To me the swastika is unfortunate but at least this guy owned up to it. What I truly can’t wrap my head around is how an African-American can in any conceivable way be a Republican, especially in the current climate. I know there are varying opinions and people have different ideas, but Republicans in their current incarnation are blatantly, openly, gleefully racist in their intentions and their actions. Call me crazy but I don’t get it.

OK, Kanye.

Who hasn’t overlooked a swastika or two? Every time you turn around there’s another one, the country club, the home barbecue. Nobody’s perfect!

I am sure he doesn’t support racism, but I have no confidence in the people with whom he associates.

Well, there are swastikas and swastikas. I heard from New Yorkers they started seeing swastika graffiti in the days after the election. Those are bad swastikas. On a bulletin board, advertising some talk or presentation with fascism as the subject, it’s an arresting graphic element and not an actual problem. Honestly the stock company should take a hard look at all their footage before they put it out there, so as not to get their equally unwary clients in this kind of trouble.

Exactly.

Much ado about nothing — something that rarely ever happens, I’m sure.

He said this while eating a big bowl of crunchy, white sugar-coated “Swastik-Os”, the GOP choice for a FoxNews “fair-and-balanced” breakfast.

I didn’t know he was black. I’ve seen a few signs around, but I noticed a few days ago that someone who lives around the corner took removed his. Haven’t seen any campaign ads, just ones for Stabenow.

I suppose republicans think putting an inexperienced man on the ticket doesn’t matter, because all the blacks in Michigan will surely vote for him. I’m sure white republicans are just as enthusiastic.

What is lazy is that he is running TV ads (or his first) using stock footage. Does the guy get out of his little republican bubble so little that he does not have actual footage of him in a school he could use?

Perhaps he can film at one of these schools: National Political Institutes of Education - Wikipedia It would appeal to his base voters.

This guy never goes to movies. WTF is it with those two knuckleheads in back talking and laughing throughout the flick?! Geez. And lady, opening a box of Thin Mints does not have to sound like two cats fighting. So yeah, I give you permission to hate these stupid f**ks, OK? Approved! Summary execution would be too kind.
