Wow. Just Wow. When Added to McCain’s comments about Obama being “directly responsible” for Orlando–all I can say to the GOP is that reality is not your friend. In fact, I suspect its not even a passing acquaintance.
Well, the GOP is the friend of the downtrodden. I heard this most recently from the Koch brothers, but I have known for decades that if you are poor, then a vote for the GOP is a vote for your economic future: the picket fence, the rolling lawn, the sprawling mansion, the kids going to a private school with their fellows of your preferred racial mix.
The Democrat party is the party of welfare, abortion, bare feet and Bernie Sanders.
You just have to pay attention to the right news outlets.

The Venn diagram overlap of the LGBTs who will fall for this ridiculous twaddle with the membership of the Log Cabin Republicans is probably close to 100%. In any event, it’s not going to be statistically relevant for the Democrats.

For many (most) Republicans, every issue must be based on a conflict between one group or thing against another. Whites vs. Blacks; Makers v. Takers; unrestricted, unfettered gun rights vs. taking away your guns and throwing out the 2nd amendment; real Americans vs. “the other”; Christians v. all other religions; recognition of all religious views v. the war on Christmas; us vs. them; and now LGBTs vs. Muslims. There is no space in their politics or thinking that allows for having compassion, concern, respect, or consideration for the rights, liberties, humanity, and desires of all in addressing problems or issues that could otherwise be solved or made much better. And they don’t seem to understand that anyone could actually care about someone else who is not exactly like themselves, or even consider a compromise that is not getting 100% of the position they have taken.
