Hurry up, GOP’ers, the political winds have shifted…

With a few notable exceptions, this is just more examples of patented GOP: Special Victims Unit boilerplate. In fact it’s hard to tell if they are more cowardly or merely pathetic.

“Course, we gotta condemn that. Hell, maybe some of us even believe that Nazis and white supremacists are bad for the country. But if we’re going to destroy the social safety net, rape and pillage the environment, depress voter turnout, roll back civil rights, reproductive rights, LGBT rights and otherwise fuck over people, we’re gonna need cover.”

I don’t know what to take from the articles I’ve seen around the web lauding or at least listing the Republicans who denounced Nazi and white sepremecist marchers inciting violence, yet I’ve seen so few about Democrats doing so.

Democrats spend all day every day fighting against this crap, while the GOP dog whistles the hell out of to signal they’re OK with it. But when white pride violence happens the GOP gets the press for denouncing it.

The number of them not willing to call out who they mean when they say ‘racism’ and ‘bigotry’ is disturbing. It should seem obvious and that’s the excuse they’ll use, but it’s no secret these groups like to call their opponents the ‘real racists’. Not being explicit leaves the wiggle room for everyone to hear what they want.

However some of the statements that do are truly fantastic. Never would have thought tom cotton could put out a statement that good. I’m glad at least some of them are recognizing that playing the game they’ve played with these turds isn’t worth the short term electoral benefits.

There’ll be plenty more chances for you ladies and gentlemen to show up, stand with the good guys against the Nazis you’ve enabled, and put your money where your mouth is.

Cotton? Mr. Tough Guy Army Ranger? Portman? Rubio? Flake? It would mean a hell of a lot for America to see Republicans doing the right thing instead of just tweeting about it.

Ah, just because it’s too good to not repost …

Have any of these Profiles in Courage actually called for neo-Nazi Bannon’s firing?

And just how many of them voted to confirm Wink-and-Nod Beauregard?

Or to gag Sen. Warren when she tried to quote Coretta Scott King’s eloquent words on the floor of the Senate?

Yeah, that’s what I thought…

What wonderful, fabulous pillars. Is that building Georgian or Beaux Arts architecture?

has the NRA issues a statement proclaiming that if the good guys had carried guns then they could’ve stopped the bad guy with a car, yet?

I wonder why Dean Heller went out of his way to mention he doesn’t know the guy. He’s not even from Ohio so why would anyone suspect they know each other. If I were the suspicious type I’d say something fishy is going on.

About the 32-year-old woman who was murdered …

This is way too complicated… “Neo Nazis”, “White Nationalists”, “KKK”, “Sovereign Citizens”… ad nauseam. Let’s just label them for what they are “Trumpettes”.

They are what they are… and so is he. This is his brand. He needs to live with it.

If they are true patriots and want to make a lasting difference in our country I urge them to check the organ donor box on their driver’s license and join the MMA circuit.

Our system was wisely designed to not require the purest and most noble of spirit in positions of elected power, but rather to make even craven and self-serving men and women accountable to the people.

When there’s rhetorical blood in the water, and here there clearly is, that means the system is working.

I always like to compare the list of Republicans expressing sane ideas to the list of Republicans running for re-election in the current cycle. They usually coincide quite well.

I think this fact should be noted in any article about them. Or if a tweet is quoted, just put a little disclaimer below that says Running for Re-Election.

The technical term for their statements is: Horse Shit. They know nobody is going to really notice their weak-assed mealy mouthed “condemnations” and just want to get them on the record for cover in the future.

Republicans do NOT care and more than likely would try to excuse and support these vile scumbags if they thought they could get away with it. Republicans created them and they own all their actions.

I thought it was Greek Revival. But who knows?

When you discover you’re out of Miracle Whip, like these lads have, does anything really matter anymore?
